“Tessa, are you okay?”

Logan’s voice forced me to halt. I was going to my room after we tucked Lena in her cradle. She was sleeping under the effect of the vaccine.

“I am fine, Logan. I am only tired.” I lied because I knew exactly why he was asking me this but I didn’t think it was right moment to discuss it with him what I had seen.

Or whom I had seen with a mysterious man because Logan would never believe me.

“Tessa, I have been observing you since we drove back home. You look lost in your own world like something is stressing you.” He said with concern.

I looked away because he could read me so well.

“I am not hiding anything from you. It’s only exhaustion because my body is recovering from child birth and my stamina is low.” I used a logical excuse.

He didn’t look convinced but he nodded his head eventually.

“Okay, go and take some rest before the lunch is prepared.” He said and went towards his own room.

I quickly dialled Adrian’s number as soon as I entered my room.

I had to make sure that what I saw had a concrete reason. He picked it in the second ring as if he had his phone in

his hand.

“Hello, Tess.” He greeted me warmly.

“Adrian, do you have a minute? I need to talk to you, it’s important.” I said in a low voice because I didn’t want anyone to eavesdrop.

“Yes, I am actually heading for a meeting outside. So, I can talk until I reach at my destination.” He said.

Upon receiving the green signal from him I sighed and sent him the photo that I clicked without Logan noticing it.

“I have sent you a photo and I want you to find out who is the man in the photo with her.” I said without mentioning Raelynn’s name.

“Holy sh*t! Where did you get this picture?” I could feel his shocked expressions because it was evident in his

tone.

“Adrian, exactly that’s how I had felt. She is a sly woman and someone who has been obsessed with a single man for years, this came like a shock to me as well. They have something going on between them and I can only trust you about it.” I said.

“Do you want me to collect information on this guy if I am not wrong.”

“Yes, as soon as possible because if she’s planning something against my family and me, I have to be alerted.” I

said.

“Give me a few hours, Tess. I’ll try to collect information on this guy.” He said.

“Thank you but can you please keep it between us until we’re sure about her intentions?” I requested him.

After talking to him, I felt some relief.

I stared the photo, it was a bit blurred as I captured it from a moving car but I couldn’t stop thinking about the man. Could it be Raelynn’s boyfriend? I hadn’t seen him in the person. Perhaps, they were still together.

I could never trust Raelynn, especially around Lena because if she’d find out that I had Logan’s baby, it’d definitely blow her up.

A baby of mine and Logan means a direct threat to her mega plans.

“God, show me a way out of this.” I groaned and ran my fingers through my hairs.

A knock on the door put an end to my thoughts. I composed myself.

“Come in.” I said.

The door opened slightly and a maid peeked in.

“Salmon?” I looked down at the food.

opened the lids and I found my favourite dishes. It had been a long time since I last tasted good food due to doctor’s restrictive diet.

“You have been eating bland food for days. So, I asked Kelly to cook something special for you. But only for today. You’ll be back on your routine diet from dinner.” He said.

I’d not lie, my mouth watered when I looked down at the delicious food.

“Thanks, I was craving to have something nice.” I said and didn’t waste another second to dig into the food.

“Easy, no one is stealing your food. Eat calmly.” He laughed.

After a very long time, it was our first meal together when we didn’t just sit and eat quietly because I was on my mission to avoid him.

“Do you want to watch a movie after lunch or play chess? My schedule is cleared for today and Lena is also sleeping.” He asked.

I looked up.
