PART–094
Tessa
I paced too and fro in the living room. It was around ten in the night but Logan wasn’t home yet. He said that he’d be late or probably stay at a hotel but he texted me around seven that he was heading back home.
It had been three hours and there was no sign of him. His phone and his driver’s phone were also unavailable which increased my anxiety more.
I hoped he was fine.
But the uneasiness that I had been feeling since he left, it was only increasing with passing time. It wasn’t the first time when Logan was late but the fear was different.
Suddenly, my phone rang, it was Logan’s number and I answered it without waiting for another second.
“Hello, Logan where are you? Have you entered the city yet?” I asked him without waiting for him to speak first.
“Hello, Ma’am, am I speaking to Mrs. Tessa Wilferd?” I heard a different voice.
It alarmed me and I also heard sirens in the background.
“Yes, I am but who are you and what are you doing with my husband’s phone? Where is he?” I tried to sound composed but fear conjured me.
“Ma’am, I am deputy police chief and I have called to inform you that your husband’s car met with an accident.”
I felt like someone had poured icy cold water over my head. My brain went numb.
“Acci…Accident?” I stuttered unable to speak more.
“Yes, the accident happened in the outskirts of the city. The driver was dead on the spot but your husband was still conscious when we arrived at the site. He told us to call you before he lost consciousness. Please, reach at Holy Jane Hospital. We have taken him there.” He said.
My brain couldn’t work.
The word accident and death replayed in my mind.
“Is..is he badly injured?” I somehow asked as I was on the verge of breaking.
“Yes, Ma’am. He is injured. It’s better if you reach hospital first. We need to investigate the cause of accident.” He said and
ended the call.
I didn’t know what to do next. I couldn’t leave the kids alone at home. Tears were flowing uncontrollably from my eyes imagining the worst.
“Kelly!”
I ran towards Kelly’s room to inform her and to instruct her to take care of Lucas and Lena.
“Ma’am, what happened?” Kelly grabbed my hands as soon as she opened the door.
I was shaking profusely.
“Logan…he..met an accident. I need to go to the hospital. Please, take care of the kids.” I said somehow.
Her eyes widened and she gasped.
“Oh My God! How is Sir?” She asked.

“Ma’am, don’t worry about the kids. I’ll look after them. But first you need to calm down. Mr. Wilferd needs you right now. You must act strong. Go and change your clothes. I am going to tell the driver to ready the car.” She said.
I nodded my head and went to my room to change my clothes quickly. Checking on the kids for one last time, I headed outside the house but I spotted Felix outside.
“Tessa, come, let’s go. I came here to pick you first because media got a whiff of the accident and they’d try to reach you. I have increased the security around the house as well.” He said while opening the car door for me.
I wasted no time in slipping inside his car.
“Kelly, call me if Lucas or Lena needs me.” I said to Kelly before Felix sped the car out of the house.
“Does Logan’s parents know about the accident?” I asked him.
“Yes. Uncle Kevin is also informed and they also reached at the hospital since it’s close to their house. Tessa, be strong. Logan needs you the most right now.” He tried to consol me.
More tears streamed down from my eyes.
“Tessa, I want you to be careful because I don’t think it was jus

an accident.” He spoke after a brief silence.
“The car was at normal speed and the road was smooth. There was no way that it dumped. Another moving vehicle hit the car and we are trying to find out the other vehicle.” He said.
I was shocked to learn it because it was the first time when someone tried to hurt Logan.
“Who could it be? Logan doesn’t have enemies.” I said.
“He might not have enemies but you can’t predict someone’s ill intention. Maybe you and Logan don’t know this enemy yet he wants to destroy you.” He said.
My mind was numb to process anything. I just wanted Logan to be alright.

media was outside the hospital.
