My vision blurred with tears of pain and happiness simultaneously.

I was finally able to see Logan who laid on the hospital bed, injured and under deep sleep due to the effects of sedatives

It wasn’t less than a miracle that he survived a fatal accident in which his driver died on the spot because the impact was on the left side of the car while Logan was sitting on the right side. But he was still injured. His head was bumped against the car window.

He had deep cuts on his abdomen and legs and had stitches on most of them.

He lost his consciousness due to loss of blood.

But he survived what mattered to me the most.

“Wake up soon. You scared me, Logan.” I whispered.

He couldn’t see me so I let down my guards and expressed my weak side. I loved him, I loved him more than anyone in this

world.

The accident made me realize that wherever I go, I’d never forget him.

He’d be in my heart forever.

I carefully touched his forehead. His body was cold.

“Please, get well soon because it’s difficult for me to raise your princess alone. She is throwing tantrums because she misses her Dad. Lucas is worried for you as well.” I whispered.

Before my tears fall on his face, I backed away and at the same time the nurses walked in to check him.

Giving a last glance at him, I walked out of his ward. My body was exhausted and on the verge of collapsing due to lack of sleep and rest. It’s almost six in the morning.

I sent Keving home because he himself was a heart patient. I didn’t want his health to get affected. He took his wife and daughter with him because he knew that they’d only trouble me.

It was only me and Felix along with the security guards.

“Come, let me drop you at home. You need rest, Tessa.” He advised but I shook my head in refusal.

“I can’t leave him alone here, Felix. What if he wakes up and won’t find me or his parents? He’ll feel bad.” I said.

“I understand your point but look at yourself. How will you be able to take care of him when you yourself may fall sick. Please, go home and rest for a few hours. Your kids need you. Moreover, my cousin wouldn’t wake up for another five or six hours. The doctors have given him heavy sedatives for his brain swelling to heal.”

He was right. I could barely keep my eyes open and kids needed me in their father’s absence.

MY driver was already waiting in the basement parking. I assumed Felix called him. The drive from hospital to home was quiet.

I had realized that life could take an unexpected turn any moment.

What if something happened to Logan?

Would I be able to imagine a life without him?

Living separately was a different thing but not having him forever, it hit different. We had issues between us but I never imagined something happening to him. It killed me a thousand times until the doctors updated us on his health.
