Chapter 118 You Didn’t Do It
Chapter 118 You Didn’t Do It
Giavanna tilted her head and looked at him. “Do you mean with Eloise, or with me?”
“And with me, too?” Giavanna pressed, tilting her head.
Beckett was caught off guard. He hadn’t thought Giavanna was part of this.
Giavanna’s expression turned wounded. “Beckett, what are you saying? Is it really so impossible for you to accept something between us?”
Beckett was at a loss for words.
He stammered awkwardly, looking at Giavanna. “That’s not what I meant.”
Giavanna pouted, clearly hurt. “Don’t try to deny it. I know that’s exactly what you meant. Who was the one last night pinning me down, kissing me desperately, trying to take off my clothes? If the doctor hadn’t barged in, you would’ve…”
She left the rest unsaid.
Beckett wished the ground would swallow him whole.
Even though he’d been drugged and it wasn’t really his fault, he knew he’d crossed a line with Giavanna.
He cleared his throat, his voice low. “I’m sorry. Is there anything I can do to make it up to you?”
Giavanna’s eyes sparkled. “Really? There’s compensation for this?”
Beckett froze for a moment, then shook his head. “No, there isn’t.”
“What? Why not?” Giavanna exclaimed.
Her eyebrows were practically pinched together, pure frustration written all over her face.
‘Seriously? He flipped that fast?’ Giavanna grumbled inwardly.
Beckett retorted, “Let’s be real, you’ve been after me for ages. The doctor barged in just in time last night. You must’ve been pissed you didn’t get your chance.”
“So, if you think about it, I’m actually the one who lost out. No compensation for you.”
Giavanna just stared, speechless.
‘I can’t even…’ she thought.
“Beckett, I have to hand it to you. You really know how to twist things around,” Giavanna said sarcastically.
Beckett raised an eyebrow at her. “Isn’t that the truth?”
Giavanna huffed in frustration. “Of course not! Sure, I like you, but I’d never do something like that unless we were married, or at least both sober. I wouldn’t want to sleep with you like that! It’s just not right at all!”
Beckett raised an eyebrow at her. “I’m grateful you didn’t take advantage of me.”
Giavanna was left speechless.
Beckett got out of bed and slipped on his shoes.
Giavanna asked, “Where are you going?”
“Leaving the hospital,” Beckett replied.
