Grayson Pierce and Eloise Caldwell novel Chapter 139

Chapter 139

:

After breakfast, Grayson took the initiative to clear the table.

By the time Eloise came downstairs, he had already went for work.

Eloise stood at the top of the stairs, frowning.

She wondered, ‘Is he still mad?

‘Why should I care if he’s mad? Let him stew for all I care!’

Noah was playing on his tablet when the phone started ringing.

The screen lit up with “Bobby.”

Noah glanced up and saw Eloise lost in thought.

So he casually hung up the call.

Not long after, the phone rang again.

Noah picked up the phone and said, “Who is this?”

Bobby paused, then said, “Noah, it’s Bobby. Is your mom around?”

Noah replied, “Nope, she’s not home.”

Bobby was left speechless.

He asked, “Why do you have her phone?”

Noah replied, “She left it at home.”

Hearing this, Bobby frowned.

“Bye, Bobby. I’m hanging up now,” Noah said, ending the call.

Bobby was left speechless..

Noah tossed the phone aside and kept playing on his tablet.

Eloise came downstairs and asked, “Noah, do you want to go browse the flower market with me?”

The sunroom was still empty, waiting to be decorated.

Noah put away his tablet and grabbed Eloise’s hand, saying, “Let’s go, Mom.”

Chapter 139

Eloise picked up her phone, took it into her bag, and walked out the door with Noah.

On the way, she got a call from Hannah.

Hannah asked, “Eloise, where are you? Is nobody home?”

Eloise suddenly realized and asked, “Hannah, are you at the house?”

Hannah replied, “Yes, I rang the doorbell, but nobody answered.”

Eloise said, “Hannah, we were just heading to the flower market. We only just left, so please wait there. I’ll be right back.”

Hannah said, “No need. Just send me the address of the flower market. I’ll have my bodyguard drive me over. I can help you carry stuff later.”

Eloise said, “Okay, I’ll send it right now.”

She pulled over, shot the address to Hannah, and kept heading to the flower market.

They’d only just arrived at the flower market when Hannah showed up.

Hannah asked, “Eloise, what kind of flowers are you thinking about getting?”

Eloise shrugged and said, “Honestly, I have no clue. I don’t really know much about flowers, so I have no idea. which ones are easy to take care of. Do you know anything about them, Hannah? Can you give me some tips?”

Hannah grinned, her eyes twinkling. “Oh, you asked the perfect person! Come on, I’ll help you pick.”

Eloise smiled and said, “Alright.”

With Hannah joining in, the outing felt a lot livelier.

“Hannah, this flower looks so pretty,” Eloise said, pointing at one.

Hannah replied, “No, it’s hard to take care of and doesn’t bloom for long.”

“Hannah, what about this one? It smells so good,” Eloise said, smelling it.

Hannah said, “That one’s nice, but it’s a bit rare and delicate. I’ll have the family’s gardener teach you how to care for it later.”

After spending the whole morning shopping, they ended up with a lot of flowers.

There was no way all of them would fit in their own car, so they called for a truck to haul everything back.

The staff at the flower market helped load all the flowers onto the truck.

Eloise figured she’d just unload everything in the yard, then carry it all upstairs bit by bit herself.

But when they got home, there were a dozen men in black suits standing neatly in formation at the door.

“What were you thinking? Doubting my precious baby? Seriously, that’s crossing the line! Totally out of line!”

Eloise heard the ruckus and stepped out of the kitchen, only to see Grayson getting bonked by Hannah with a

toy.

She was stunned for a moment, then burst out laughing.

Honestly, Hannah was probably the only person on earth who’d dare smack Grayson around like that.

Noah didn’t know why Hannah suddenly went wild and started whacking Grayson.

But he stood off to the side, enjoying the show.

Grayson was totally at a loss. When Hannah finally got tired of whacking him, he said, “Grandma, could you at least get the story straight?

“I didn’t drag him into this. He was freaking out, thinking he wasn’t my kid, so I took him for the test to calm him down.”

Hannah turned to Noah and asked, “Is that true?”

Noah glanced at Grayson and nodded.

Hannah sheepishly put the toy down and looked at Grayson. “Why didn’t you tell me that before?”

Grayson thought, ‘Did she even give me a chance to explain?’

He glanced at Eloise, who was laughing her head off by the kitchen door, then stomped upstairs with a scowl.

Hannah, acting as if nothing had happened, picked up the paternity test report and started reading it again.

She said, “Well, it’s not a bad thing we did it. If anyone ever dares say my precious Noah isn’t a Pierce, I’ll smack them in the face with this paper.”

Eloise gave a helpless smile.

She thought, ‘Figures. They really are family, always thinking the same way.

Leo folded up the paper neatly and said, “Noah, mind if I keep this?”

Noah nodded and replied, “Sure, you guys can have it. I’ve got plenty more.”

Then Leo slipped the paternity test into his pocket.

If Yvonne ever started running her mouth again, he’d just slap this paper right in her face.

At dinner, Grayson sat next to Eloise, not saying a word.

Eloise kept sneaking glances at him.
