Colton wrapped his arms around Juliette from behind. “Hey, you still haven’t answered me.”

“What?” Juliette asked.

“Move in with me,” Colton said.

“No.” Juliette replied.

“Why not just move in? Look at this huge place. I’m all alone here, so lonely I can’t even sleep at night,” Colton said.

Juliette laughed. “Don’t be ridiculous.”

“I’m serious. Move in with me. You’ll get to see a handsome guy every day, and that handsome guy will cook for you,” Colton said.

“Well, that last part is actually pretty tempting,” Juliette said.

“Am I not irresistible in bed? You admitted that night, even when you’re sober, you can’t resist me,” Colton teased.

Juliette was speechless.

She was so honest when she was drunk.

“Come on, let me show you the bedroom,” Colton said.

He took her hand and led her into the room.

Colton’s room was huge, the color scheme mostly white and gray.

Juliette picked up a photo frame from the nightstand. It was a solo shot of Colton, standing in front of a snowy mountain, wearing a heavy puffer coat.

She was so absorbed in the photo that she suddenly found herself lifted off the ground.

Instinctively, she wrapped her arms around his neck. “What are you doing?”

Colton’s eyes burned with desire. “Carrying you to the shower.”

Juliette knew exactly what was on his mind, and she didn’t even bother to play coy.

In the new setting, Juliette felt especially intense that night. At one moment she felt like she was flying, and the next like she was about to die.

At the most intense moment, Colton whispered in her ear, his voice rough, “Juliette, how about moving in with me? If you do, you can have this kind of pleasure every single day. Don’t you want that?”

Juliette propped her chin on her hand, giving him a look. “What if your mom shows up and catches me

there?”

Colton replied, “I’ll change the code. She won’t be able to get in.”

“She’ll just knock and come in anyway,” Juliette pointed out.

“I’ll just tell her you’re my girlfriend. My mom’s super chill about that,” Colton said.

Juliette was caught off guard.

Even though she and Colton had slept together many times, neither of them had ever called the other their boyfriend or girlfriend.

In the end, Juliette ended up moving in with Colton.

When Eloise found out they were living together, she called Juliette and asked, “So are you two together now?”

Juliette paused for a moment. “I guess so.”

She wasn’t really overthinking it. She just wanted to see how things played out for now.

Eloise asked, “Did you end your lease?”

“Yeah,” Juliette replied.

“Congrats on not being single anymore!” Eloise said.

“Thanks!” Juliette laughed out loud.

She wasn’t thinking about anything else. Being with Colton was just pure happiness.

“When’s Grayson coming back?” Juliette asked.

Eloise replied, “Two more days. It’s the end of the year, so he’s got a lot going on.”

Juliette didn’t ask any more. She understood,

Colton had been crazy busy lately.

Everyone else, except for her and Colton, was working extremely hard.

Whenever she left the office, she couldn’t even bring herself to meet those pitiful, mournful stares.

Colton had just started at the company, so he didn’t have much to do yet.

Eloise opened the door and was momentarily stunned to see a middle-aged man standing there.

“Who are you looking for?” Eloise asked.

The man was dressed in a suit. He might’ve been older, but he was tall. One could totally tell he used to be a real looker.

Harvey stared at her for a long moment.

He’d seen Eloise’s photos before, but in person, she was even more beautiful. She looked just like Lorelei when she was young, and he could see a bit of himself in her too.

“I’m Harvey Carter,” he said.

Eloise frowned, couldn’t quite remember who he was.

Harvey added, “I’m Dustin and Chloe’s dad.”

Eloise looked up in surprise.

After a long pause, she finally asked, “What brings you here?”

‘Here we go again. Another round of Grayson’s relationship drama,’ Eloise thought.

The Carter family was trying to set up Chloe with Grayson. Since Grayson wouldn’t budge, they were probably hoping to convince him by going through her.

She just hadn’t expected Harvey himself to show up at her door.

Harvey asked, “Can I come in and talk?”

Eloise didn’t move. “Just say it here.”

She had never liked anyone from the Carter family.

Harvey said in a deep voice, “I’m your dad.”

Eloise fell silent.

She stood there for a long moment, completely blank.

‘What did this person say? Did he just say he’s my dad?’ Eloise thought, her mind reeling.

Eloise looked at the middle-aged man and asked, “What did you just say, Mr. Carter?”

Harvey replied, “Your mom is Lorelei, right? I’m your father.”

He knew Lorelei, so he was most likely her real father.

Eloise hesitated for a moment before letting him in.

Harvey settled onto the couch, his eyes roaming around the gorgeous villa, sizing it up.

“Grayson gave you this place, didn’t he?” Harvey asked.

Eloise nodded, barely paying attention.

“Looks like he treats you well,” he remarked.

Eloise stayed silent.

After a moment, Eloise asked, “What was going on between you and Lorelei?”

Harvey looked a little uncomfortable.

“We were together for a while,” he replied.

“Was she just your mistress?” Eloise pressed.”

Dustin and Chloe were both older than her. It meant Harvey was already married to Vivian and had children at that time.
