Chapter 164 You’ll Get Good Stuff
The slipper smacked right into Yvonne’s nose and dropped to the floor.
She screamed in fright, flailing her arms around like crazy, thinking something gross had landed on her face.
After waving her arms around for a while, she finally looked down and saw the slipper on the floor. Her face instantly darkened.
By the time she looked up, Christina was already storming right up to her, barely an inch away.
Joslyn and Galen, who had just come in behind her, were both stunned for a moment.
“Mom’s so fierce!” Joslyn blurted out.
“Mom’s a total legend!” Galen added.
The two of them hung back about six feet away, just watching the drama unfold.
There was no way they were going to step in and help.
After all, she was Grayson’s mom and used to be their aunt.
If they stepped in, people would say they were ganging up on her. Better to let their mother handle it herself.
They just stood there, silently cheering her on in their hearts.
A servant picked up Christina’s slipper and set it down at her feet. Christina slipped it on, put her hands on her hips, and snapped, “Yvonne, what are you doing here? Are you here for a tongue-lashing or a slap?”
Yvonne’s face turned sour. “Christina, have you lost your mind? I didn’t come here for you. Why are you stirring up drama?”
“You’re the one who’s nuts! If I were you, I’d be hiding out overseas and never showing my face again. Even if you come back, you should keep your head down. But you actually have the nerve to show up at the Pierce family? Who do you think you are, showing your face here?” Christina shot back.
“Christina, whatever I did, that’s between me and your brother. As someone who’s already married off, you have no right to speak up,” Yvonne retorted.
“No matter who I marry, I’m still a Pierce, still Leo’s sister and Grayson’s aunt. But you? You’re already divorced from Leo. I heard you’ve been pestering him at the company, trying to get back together. Are you out of your mind? Why don’t you take a good look at yourself? You’re older than an old pumpkin. Leo wouldn’t touch you with a ten-foot pole,” Christina sneered.
Yvonne’s face went from pale to flushed, a mess of embarrassment and anger.
Back when she was still living with the Pierce family, Christina had always had a sharp tongue, but at least she used to show Yvonne some respect.
But after the divorce with Leo, Christina had hounded her for two days straight, never missing a chance to throw insults her way.
And once Christina found out she was trying to get back with Leo, the mockery only got nastier.
‘Leo is so cold-hearted. He heard Christina ripping into me and didn’t even bother to show up or defend me, Yvonne thought bitterly.
‘Even my own son, Grayson, just watched as I got humiliated, not lifting a finger to help.’
She felt utterly crushed.
Joslyn whispered, “Mom’s really on fire with her comebacks today.”
Galen looked worried. “If I ever bring home a girl Mom doesn’t like, do you think she’ll be at her throat every single day?”
Joslyn nodded. “Highly likely.”
“If you want a peaceful home, you’d better into

Galen groaned, “Forget it, I’m not getting married.”
Joslyn wagged a finger at him. “No way! If you don’t get married, you’ll never have a moment’s peace in your life.”
Galen wailed, “Women are terrifying!”
Joslyn gave him a kick. “It’s Mom who’s scary, don’t lump me in with her.”
Galen rubbed his butt, muttering to himself, ‘Women are all scary… Wait, no, that’s not true. Eloise’s actually super gentle.’
‘If I ever get married, I want a wife just like her, he thought.
‘Yeah, someone just like Eloise!’ he told himself.
‘Mom really likes Eloise now. If I bring home a girl like her, Mom will definitely be happy. He felt bit relieved.
Meanwhile, Christina was still locked in a heated verbal sparring match with Yvonne, throwing shade back and forth.
Yvonne was no match for Christina at all. In the end, she just whimpered and ran off, sniffling as she went.

Eloise glanced at Grayson.
He didn’t look mad anymore, just taking his time with his food.
The whole room could hear the argument outside.
But Grayson had no intention of going out.
With Christina going off on her like that, Yvonne probably wouldn’t come back again.
Hannah didn’t say a word the whole time. When Christina came back, she just picked up a piece of meat and put it on her plate.
Christina shot her mother a surprised look, then picked up the meat and started eating.
After dinner, Eloise and Joslyn were planning to go to a concert.
Grayson, still a bit worried, insisted on driving them there.
Joslyn, sitting in the back seat, was practically bouncing with excitement. “Grayson, if I can have you as my driver even once, I’ll be happy forever.”
Grayson replied coolly, “I’m not your driver. I’m driving for my future wife.”
“Yeah. I’m lucky to be with Eloise. Being with her means I get treats.” Joslyn joked.
Grayson shot her a look. “Quit fooling around. Make sure you keep Eloise safe. If she hurts even a finger, you’ll be stuck at home for a whole year.”
“Relax, I won’t let Eloise out of my sight. I’m her personal bodyguard today,” Joslyn declared, puffing out her chest.
Eloise couldn’t help but eye Joslyn’s skinny arms and legs, feeling a bit helpless.
‘Honestly, who’s really protecting who here?’ Eloise wondered.
At the entrance to the concert, Grayson took Eloise’s hand and reminded her, “It’s going to be packed in there,
so stick close, keep your phone on you, and call me if anything comes up.”
Eloise leaned closer and poked his abs with her finger. Through his clothes, it didn’t feel as nice.
“Alright, alright, you’re such a worrywart,” she teased.
Joslyn gave him a mischievous grin. “Grayson, how come you’re not fussing over me too?”
Grayson glared at her, and Joslyn immediately fell silent.
‘Okay, I can’t joke about my scary cousin, Joslyn thought.

Eloise followed Joslyn inside without even looking back.
Grayson stood there, watching Eloise’s back with a sulky look on his face.
‘Not even a hug?’ he grumbled to himself.
The longer Grayson stood there, the more people stopped to stare at him.
Everyone figured he must be some guest star here for the concert, and a few even came over asking for his autograph.
“Hey, handsome, can we get your autograph?” one girl called out.
Grayson was at a loss for words.
“Wow, you’re so hot!” another girl squealed.
Grayson gave the girls a frosty glance and started walking away.
The crowd instantly parted, making way for him.
