Grayson Pierce and Eloise Caldwell novel Chapter 163

Chapter 163 I’m Not a Carter.

Eloise said, “I’m not a Carter.”

She refused to acknowledge him as her father.

Juliette paused for a moment, then burst out laughing. “You’re right. Let those idiots from the Carter family

get lost. Who wants to be related to them anyway?”

Grayson walked in and was surprised to see Colton sitting on the couch.

“What are you doing here?” Grayson asked.

Colton pointed toward the kitchen. “I’m family today.”

Grayson glanced at the kitchen and raised an eyebrow. “So, you two are back together?”

Colton smirked and nodded.

Ten minutes later, Juliette came out carrying a plate and called out to the two men chatting on the couch,” Dinner’s ready.”

Then she went to the stairs and shouted, “Noah! My boy! Dinner’s ready!”

Grayson and Colton were speechless.

Grayson shot Colton a look. “Your girlfriend is a real tigress.”

Colton laughed. “No, she’s actually pretty gentle at home.”

“Yeah, whatever,” Grayson said.

“What’s that supposed to mean?” Colton shot back.

“Nothing, just saying,” Grayson replied.

Colton tagged along after Grayson into the dining room.

Grayson drifted off toward the kitchen.

As Colton got closer, he saw Grayson with his arm around Eloise’s waist, pulling her in for a kiss.

He quickly backed away.

Juliette was about to head into the kitchen to bring out more food when Colton stopped her. “Don’t go.”

Juliette said, “I haven’t finished serving yet.”

“You don’t have to, someone else will take care of it,” Colton replied.

Juliette got it instantly and gave a sly, mischievous grin.

Eloise pushed Grayson away with a playful pout. “Hey, people can see us!”

“So what?” Grayson shot back.

Eloise glared at him. “You’re so bold!”

Grayson gave her cheek a gentle pinch, loving how soft and smooth it felt.

“Look who’s shy now,” he teased.

Eloise handed him two plates of food. “Take these out.”

The two of them came out together, one after the other, carrying the dishes.

Once the food was set down, Grayson pressed Eloise into her seat. “Stay put.”

Then he turned and pulled Noah into the kitchen.

“Noah, go get the bread, Grayson said.

then come back for more.”

“Oh,” Noah replied.

He went out with the plate, set it in front of Eloise, and then dashed right back to the kitchen.

Grayson was on bread duty, and Noah was his little helper, running back and forth.

Finally, Grayson came out holding a plate of bread in one hand and a knife in the other.

“Dinner time,” Grayson announced.

Noah climbed onto his chair and started eating like a good kid.

Juliette teased, “You two really make a great father-son team.”

Now she was almost tempted to have a son herself.

Eloise watched the pair, clearly pleased.

Grayson had been more easygoing lately, and he and Noah were getting along much better now.

Harvey was waiting restlessly in the hotel suite.

“Why isn’t she here yet?” he grumbled.

He pulled out his phone and called Lorelei. “Eloise still hasn’t shown up. Can you call her and check where she is?”

Lorelei replied, “Why don’t you call her yourself?”

“I did, but she’s not answering,” Harvey said.

“Wait,” Lorelei said.

After hanging up, Lorelei called Eloise again.

Eloise pulled out her phone, glanced at the screen, and picked up.

Lorelei’s impatient voice came through. “Didn’t I send you the address? Why aren’t you here yet?”

Eloise replied, “I never said I was going.”

“You! Stop twisting words! You go right now!” Lorelei snapped.

“Whatever,” Eloise said.

“What do you mean?” Lorelei demanded.

“Nothing, just saying,” Eloise replied.

Lorelei was left speechless.

Colton was stunned.

He thought to himself, ‘People say couples start to resemble each other after living together for a while. Does the same happen with how they talk?’

Lorelei hung up and called Harvey. “She doesn’t want to come.”

Harvey was fuming, just sitting in the suite for two hours, stewing in his own frustration.

He couldn’t take it anymore and started venting his anger at Lorelei.

“Didn’t you say she’d show up?” he snapped.

Lorelei shot back, “How was I supposed to know she wouldn’t? I already told you, that brat’s gotten ice cold lately. Why do you keep poking at her anyway?”

“Seriously, this is your fault. If you’d just treated her better, she wouldn’t be acting like this,” Harvey shot back. Lorelei, still eating, slammed her fork down. “Harvey, what’s wrong with you? Are you nuts?”

She didn’t want to say another word and hung up.

When she looked up, she met Bobby’s surprised gaze.

“Mom, what did Harvey want with you?” Bobby asked.

He had always known about Harvey. He was Eloise’s real father.

But that whole mess was pretty shameful, and Bobby never really got over the fact that his mother was the other woman. He just avoided talking about Harvey altogether.

Eloise had asked him about her biological father before, but he didn’t tell the truth.

Lorelei said, “He already met Eloise, but she totally blew him off. Now he wants me to drag her out for another round.”

Bobby just frowned and kept quiet.

Grayson didn’t even need to look to know who was calling Eloise. It was either Lorelei or Harvey.

Eloise was usually gentle and easygoing, but only those two could really make her lose her temper.

He served her a piece of chicken. “Eat up.”

Eloise lowered her head and quietly started eating.

The next day was Saturday.

Grayson took Eloise and Noah back to Pierce Manor for dinner.

Christina’s family had also come back.

Christina handed Eloise a bag. “Here, take this.”

Eloise was a bit caught off guard.

Joslyn grinned and cheerfully grabbed the bag, stuffing it right into Eloise’s arms.

“These are some skincare and makeup from my mom. She runs the Pierce family’s cosmetics company, and these are the latest products. They’re seriously good. I use them too! Take them home and give them a try. From now on, don’t bother buying any more skincare or makeup, just hit up my mom for more when you out,” Joslyn said.

Christina shot her daughter a playful glare.
