Chapter 172 Better Not Tell Mom
Chapter 172 Better Not Tell Mom
‘I can’t really tell what I’m feeling, but whatever it is, it’s definitely not good, Dustin thought, feeling annoyed.
Meanwhile, Harvey was thinking, ‘If I’d known Eloise could win over Grayson, I would’ve brought her to my side and kept her close ages ago.
‘Now everyone in the Pierce family knows I never looked after Eloise, so there’s no way for me to build any connections with them now,’ he sighed inside.
‘But there’s still a long road ahead. Eloise is my daughter, after all. My blood runs in her veins, he mused.
‘I’m sure that, given enough time, Eloise will eventually acknowledge me as her father, he felt sure. ‘Once things are good between Eloise and me, the Pierce family will naturally want to be on good terms with me too.’
He shot Dustin a cold look. “Get out.”
Dustin walked out of the office, his face hard and cold.
Eloise let Noah’s preschool teacher know, and her assistant brought Noah over to the office.
As soon as Noah arrived, Eloise tossed her phone aside, pulled him into her arms, and planted a big, noisy kiss on his cheek.
Noah’s cheeks turned bright red with shyness.
Grayson’s eyes darkened.
Eloise took Noah’s little backpack off and set it on the couch.
She grabbed a strawberry from the plate her assistant brought and offered it to him. “Sweetie, did you have fun at school today?”
Noah ate a strawberry, seeing Eloise’s expectant eyes, and replied, “Yeah, I did.”
Eloise smiled. “Glad you had fun! Preschool’s awesome, right? So many friends to hang out with.”
But Noah didn’t say anything.
Honestly, he thought preschool wasn’t fun at all. The other kids were so loud and childish.
Some of the little ones just cried all the time, crying for their mothers, crying when no one would play with them, crying when they stumbled, or sometimes just crying for no reason at all.
Some kids even had runny noses, which they unceremoniously wiped across their faces and clothes. Absolutely revolting.
And a lot of thern made a mess of themselves at mealtime, getting food all over their clothes.
What really drove him crazy were the kids who wet themselves or had accidents in their pants, making the whole classroom reek. ‘Seriously, is it that hard to keep it together?’ Noah grumbled to himself.
He just couldn’t wrap his head around it.
‘Forget it, I’d better not tell Mom about all this mess. No need to ruin her perfect picture of preschool, Noah thought to himself.
Eloise was happy that Noah was finally settling into preschool.
She smiled as she fed him nearly half a plate of strawberries.
Grayson frowned as he watched the scene unfold.
‘Come on, she didn’t even think to offer me one?’ he thought to himself.
Eloise hugged the rest of the strawberries and polished them off in just a few bites.
Grayson asked, his tone flat, “Are they sw

Eloise looked up. “Super sweet! Whoever does the shopping for your company really knows their stuff. These strawberries are delicious.”
Grayson gave her a sulky, almost wounded stare.
Eloise blinked, finally getting it. “Wait, you want some too?”
Grayson didn’t say a word, but his eyes said everything.
Eloise hurried out with the plate and soon came back with a plate loaded with strawberries, setting it right in front of Grayson. “Dig in.”
“I have work to do,” Grayson replied coolly.
Eloise gave him a playful smile, picked up a strawberry, and held it right up to his lips.
Grayson grinned, finally satisfied, and leaned in to take the strawberry straight from her hand.
Eloise teased, “Is it sweet?”
Grayson nodded, “Sweet.”
After that, Eloise stood beside Grayson, occasionally feeding him strawberries.
She’d eat one, then hand him one, and before long, the plate was empty. Eloise ended up totally stuffed. Noah was used to their strawberry-sharing routine.
Completely unbothered, he sat on the floor playing with his toy model.
After work, the secretaries and assistants from the CEO’s office watched as the picture-perfect family of three headed out together.
One assistant propped her chin in her hand and sighed, “Next time I find a boyfriend, he has to be gorgeous. I want a little heartthrob to take out and turn heads.”
Finn thought with a twinge of envy, ‘Maybe I really should hang around the marriage registration office and see if fate throws me a bone.’
Juliette left the office five minutes after Colton, waving hello to her colleagues who looked totally wiped out.
She took the elevator down to the underground garage and got into her own car.
She used to hitch a ride with Colton every day to save on gas.
But one day, she was in the elevator with a coworker heading to the garage, and the coworker asked, “Juliette, I didn’t see you drive today. How are you getting home?”
Juliette quickly pulled her finger away from the B2 button and pressed another floor instead.
She smiled and said, “I’ll just grab a cab.”
The coworker hit B2. “I can give you a ride, Juliette.”
Juliette waved her hand. “No, no, it’s fine. Getting a cab is super easy.”
The coworker was just being polite and didn’t push it.
Once she reached the first floor, Juliette rushed outside to call Colton, asking him to wait for her on the street behind the office.
After circling around for about 500 meters, she finally got into his car.
“I think I’ll just drive my own car from now on. If I keep riding with you, someone’s going to spot us eventually,” Juliette said.
‘Guess I won’t be saving on gas after all, she thought.
Colton could only reluctantly agree.
From then on, they both drove their own cars to and from work.
Their cars rolled into the neighborhood one after the other.

Juliette parked her car, and Colton was waiting right there.
As soon as she got out, Colton pinned her against the car door and kissed her hard.
Juliette was startled at first, but she quickly went along with his roughness.
When they finally broke apart, Juliette slumped against his chest, gasping for air, and gave him a light smack.
“Didn’t we already get wild in the office at lunchtime? And now you’re at it again? Geez, you’ve got so much stamina,” she teased.
Colton raised an eyebrow. “Don’t you love it?”
Juliette shot him a playful glare, her eyes sparkling. “You make it sound like I’m totally obsessed with you.”
Colton chuckled, covering his mouth. “Honestly, I’d love it if you were even naughtier.”
Juliette’s heart raced, and she was dying to tear Colton’s clothes off right then and there.
“Let’s go home,” she said.
“Sure, I’ll feed you first,” Colton replied with a wicked grin.
Juliette felt speechless.
The elevator rose and stopped at their floor.
They stepped out, still wrapped up in each other.
A woman was standing at their door.
The keypad beeped loudly, signaling that the code was wrong.
Colton blurted out in surprise, “Mom?”
Suzanne turned around and froze when she saw them. Her gaze dropped to Juliette holding onto Colton’s arm, and she looked totally stunned.
Juliette quickly let go of Colton, awkwardly mumbling, “Um, well… I should head home.”
“Where do you think you’re going?” Colton grabbed her as she tried to slip away.
