Chapter 171 You Wouldn’t Be Alone Anymore
Grayson took Eloise by the hand and led her into his car.
Galen came running over, carrying the bags Eloise had left behind. “Hey, you two, wait up! These are Eloise’s.”
Eloise turned, saw the bags she’d bought, and reached out for them.
Galen said, “Let me put them in the back seat for you.”
“Sure, thanks, Galen, Eloise replied.
“No need to be so formal with me,” Galen said.
He put the bags in the back seat and waved at them. “See you!”
“See you!” Eloise called back.
Meanwhile, Hannah and Christina got into Joslyn’s car.
Eloise waved at them.
Then Grayson started driving.
Eloise turned to look at his chiseled face.
“Did Joslyn call you?” she asked.
“Yeah, she said it in the group chat,” Grayson replied.
“You really didn’t have to come. They can’t really mess with me,” Eloise said.
Grayson glanced over at her.
“Eloise, remember, you won’t be alone anymore. You have me, and you have the Pierce family,” he said.
Eloise smiled, her eyes crinkling. “I know, Grayson. Thank you.”
Even though they’d lost five years together, thankfully, things ended well for them.
Grayson reached over and took her hand.
“Eloise, let’s get married,” he said.
Eloise froze, turning to look at him in surprise.
Grayson grinned. “Why do you look so shocked? Didn’t you ever imagine marrying me?”
Eloise bit her lip, feeling a little uncertain.
Of course, she had thought about it.
But marriage wasn’t just about the two of them. ‘With my complicated status right now, would tying the knot end up causing problems for Grayson? And what if Harvey tried to use me again to mess with the Pierce family?’ she thought.
Seeing that Eloise didn’t say anything, Grayson frowned.
“You mean you never thought about marrying me?” he asked.
“Grayson, I…” Eloise hesitated, her voice trailing off.
“It’s fine. If you haven’t thought about it before, you can start now,” Grayson said.
Eloise fell silent.
She didn’t know what to say.
After a while, Eloise glanced out the window and realized they weren’t heading home.
“Where are you taking me?” she asked.
“To the office. I want you to keep me company while I work, Grayson replied.
Eloise fell silent again.

Chapter 171 You Wouldn’t Be Alone Anymore
When she had just followed Grayson into his office, a man in a sharp suit walked in. He was the lawyer responsible for this.
“Mr. Grayson,” the man greeted.
“Have a seat,” Grayson said.
“Mr. Grayson, Mr. Leo has signed. As soon as Ms. Caldwell adds her signature, the share transfer will go through,” the man explained.
Grayson handed Eloise a pen, gesturing for her to sign.
Eloise was totally lost. “Wait, what is this?”
Grayson said, “It’s a 2% share in VirtuFusion Group. My dad’s giving it to you. The board already signed off, and he’s put his name on it. You just need to sign, that’s all.”
The lawyer explained, “At first, Mr. Grayson wanted to give you some of his own shares, but Mr. Leo thought it might mess with Grayson’s control in the company. So he decided to transfer a portion of his shares to you instead.”
Eloise couldn’t find the words.
It finally sank in for her.
VirtuFusion Group was a publicly listed company, and its stock price was always high and steady. Two percent of that was worth a fortune she couldn’t even begin to fathom.
Besides, two percent of VirtuFusion Group was nothing like two percent of the Carter Group. It was a whole different league.
Eloise swallowed hard. “Grayson, it’s really tempting, but I just can’t take it.”
Grayson had seen this coming.
“Eloise, you’re going to be my wife eventually. I was always going to give you shares, so I’m just giving them to you a bit ahead of time,” he said.
“Don’t you dare say no to me!” he added.
“Grayson…” Eloise started, her voice uncertain.
“If
you don’t sign, my dad will feel really hurt. He’ll think you’re turning down his shares,” Grayson said.
The lawyer just looked on, not saying a word.
‘Man, Ms. Caldwell is unbelievable. Who turns down shares like these?
‘VirtuFusion Group shares are insanely valuable, and the yearly dividends are nothing to sneeze at,’ the lawyer thought.
But Eloise still didn’t accept it.
Grayson shot the lawyer a look, signaling for him to leave.
The lawyer got up, left the office, and quietly closed the door behind him.
The moment the door closed, Grayson pressed Eloise onto the couch.
“Eloise, if you don’t sign, I’ll take you right here,” he said, his voice low and teasing.
Eloise was speechless.
“Grayson, have you no shame?” she blurted out.
Grayson’s fingers rested on her button, then shifted slightly, and it came undone.
Eloise could only stare, lost for words.
Grayson grinned, “We’ve never tried it in the office before. This should be pretty exciting…”
“Grayson, don’t mess around!” Eloise protested, her voice shaky.
“Just sign it, or else,” Grayson teased, his voice low and full of mischief.

“Alright, alright, I’ll sign! It’s not like I’m losing anything here. Free shares? I’d be crazy not to. This is awesome,” Eloise said, half laughing, half exasperated.
Grayson released her, fixed her blouse, and with a smile, handed her the pen. “Right here.”
Eloise took the pen and signed her name.
“Grayson, we’re not even married yet, and you’re already giving me shares. Aren’t you worried I might just trick you?” Eloise teased.
Grayson closed the file and pulled her into his arms. “You wouldn’t.”
Eloise shot him a dry look. “Don’t trust people too much.”
Grayson laughed. “I only trust you.”
