Grayson Pierce and Eloise Caldwell novel Chapter 77

Chapter 77 She Hit The Jackpot

Grayson couldn’t help but notice that Hannah had been giving him the stink eye lately. Every time she looked at him, it was like she couldn’t stand the sight of him.

He honestly had no clue what he’d done to get on her bad side.

But he didn’t dwell on it. Instead, he turned to Eloise and said, “I’ll drive you guys home.”

Eloise nodded and took Noah’s hand, leading him to the car.

Eloise was about to climb into the back seat, but Grayson gently nudged her toward the passenger side

instead.

Noah covered his mouth, trying not to laugh. ‘Mom and Dad look so sweet together right now,’ he thought to himself.

Eloise shot Grayson a glare, but he just shrugged it off, totally unfazed.

After a moment, Eloise got bored of glaring at him and decided to ignore him altogether, turning to stare out the window instead.

After dropping Eloise and Noah off at Maple Apartments, Grayson didn’t follow them upstairs.

Eloise turned back to glance at him.

Grayson said, “Why are you looking at me like that? Missing me already? Come on, give me a hug then…”

Before he could finish, Eloise turned and walked away.

Noah giggled and chased after her.

He smiled, turned around, and got back in his car, driving off.

Juliette had let loose all night, and when she woke up, she felt like her body wasn’t ev

nymore.

She clutched her lower back as she walked out of the bedroom, and a mouthwatering aroma drifted over. She wandered over to the kitchen doorway and saw Colton, the guy who’d kept her up all night, busy cooking up a storm. Just the smell alone made her mouth water.

Colton scooped up a spoonful of soup to taste, when suddenly, a pair of hands slipped around his waist. He paused, then grinned. “You’re this energetic already this morning, huh?”

Juliette gave his waist a playful squeeze. “Don’t flatter yourself, it’s just a hug.”

Even if he wanted more, she wasn’t interested. She had to head to work soon.

Juliette let go of him and slipped into the bathroom.

When Juliette came out dressed for work, Colton already had breakfast waiting for her. “Breakfast’s ready, come eat,” he called over.

Juliette eyed the breakfast spread and couldn’t help but think, ‘This guy is an absolute treasure. Not only was he a beast in bed, he could whip up a killer breakfast too. I really hit the jackpot with this one.”

Colton ladled her a bowl of soup. He got up at the crack of dawn to make it.

Juliette took a sip, her eyes narrowing in delight. “Wow. This is amazing.”

Colton smirked. “If you like it, have some more. You gotta get your strength back after last night.”

Juliette nearly cracked up. And Colton also let out a low chuckle.

Juliette set her bowl down, scooped up some chicken soup, and pushed it toward Colton. “You should drink up too. You burned a lot of energy last night yourself.”

She was totally his vibe: fun and pretty. So after they hooked up, he found himself hooked and couldn’t walk

away.

After breakfast, Juliette slung her bag over her shoulder and dashed out the door. “Colton, help yourself. I’m off to work,” she called out with a playful wink.

Colton asked, “Want me to drive you?”

“Nope, I’ve got my own car,” Juliette replied.

Colton was about to ask her where she worked, but she’d already disappeared.

As soon as Camille arrived at work, she got the news that she was being transferred to the Oniohull branch. She went to HR to ask about it.

The HR rep said, “This was Mr. Pierce’s decision. There’s nothing we can do.”

Camille turned and headed straight for the 22nd floor. As soon as she stepped out of the elevator, an assistant stopped her. “Ms. Hopkins, please leave.”

“Get out of my way. Who gave you the right to stop me?” Camille snapped.

“Sorry, Mr. Pierce’s orders,” the assistant replied.

Camille clenched her fists. “Move. I want to see Grayson.”

“Ms. Hopkins, you can’t just call Mr. Pierce by his first name,” the assistant protested.

“Get lost. Don’t block me. I need to see him,” Camille snapped. She, nearly hysterical, shoved the assistant out of her way.

Not long after, Finn showed up. “Ms. Hopkins, this isn’t somewhere you can act out. Leave, now.”

Camille’s tone turned pleading as she looked at Finn. “Finn, please, just let me see Grayson, okay?”

Finn replied, “Ms. Hopkins, Mr. Pierce isn’t going to see you. You need to leave. And he said you’re not allowed to call him Grayson anymore.”

Suddenly, Camille burst out, yelling, “Grayson. Grayson. Get out here. I saved your life, you can’t do this to me. You can’t just ship me off to Oniohull.”

Finn frowned. “Ms. Hopkins, you can’t throw a fit here. Mr. Pierce is only sending you to saved him once. If it weren’t for that, you’d already be fired.”

Camille was on the verge of a breakdown, her face contorted in desperation. “I don’t believe you. You’re lying. I refuse to believe it. Make him come out. I need to ask him face to face,” she screamed.

Finn whipped out his phone and called for backup. “Get two security guards up to the 22nd floor.”

The guards dragged Camille out of VirtuFusion Group, taking her employee badge right then and there.

Camille was locked out of the company, so furious she was about to explode.

Just then, her phone rang. When she saw it was Vivian calling, she answered and instantly started venting all her anger at her mom.

Camille snapped, “Why are you calling me? Is it just to beg for money again? Are you crippled or on your deathbed? Why can’t you just go out and get a job?

“You’re always asking me for cash. What am I, your personal ATM? Well, I’m not giving you another dime. You two leeches, stay the hell away from me. I’m so done with you.”

Vivian was so furious her whole body shook, but before she could even get a word out, Camille hung up on her.

When Vivian finally calmed down enough to call back, the line just wouldn’t go through. Camille had blocked her number.

Vivian grabbed her husband Payne Hopkins’s phone and tried calling from it, but it was the same story. Both of them were absolutely livid.

Grayson saw Camille calling, didn’t hesitate for a second, and hung up, blocking her right after.

Yeah, Camille had saved him once, but she’d already used up every bit of goodwill he had for her.
