Grayson Pierce and Eloise Caldwell novel Chapter 80

Chapter 80 He’s Yours

Grayson ruffled Noah’s hair before closing the door. “I’ll settle this with you later,” he said to Noah.

Then he walked over, grabbed Eloise, and pulled her into the room.

Noah chased after them, but the door slammed shut right in front of him, and he heard the lock click.

Noah paused, debating with himself, ‘Should I knock or not? Mom should be fine, right? Sure, Dad acts all tough, but he never wins against Mom. They’ve got stuff to talk about. I’ll just leave them be.

Just then, someone knocked on the door. Noah walked over, but didn’t rush to open it. “Who is it?” he called

out.

“Noah, it’s me, Mrs. Pierce,’ Hannah’s voice came from the other side.

Only then did Noah open the door. ‘Mrs. Pierce,” Noah greeted her.

Hannah smiled warmly and walked inside. Eloise had sent her the address of the apartment yesterday, which was how Hannah managed to find the place.

“Where’s your aunt? Has she already gone to work?” Hannah asked.

Noah pointed toward the room. “Mr. Pierce dragged her in there to have a talk.”

Hannah’d already caught wind of the news online on her way over. She hadn’t expected that knucklehead grandson of hers to be so fast. He actually got here before she did.

Eloise sat down on the bed.

Grayson stood in front of her, and from his angle, all he could see was the crown of her head. He asked, “Why didn’t you answer when I called you?”

Eloise pointed at the nightstand. “I left my phone in here. Didn’t hear it at all.”

Grayson took a deep breath. “Forget about that for now. Let’s talk about Noah. He’s my kid, isn’t he?”

Eloise lowered her head, eyes fixed on her toes, her voice soft and hesitant. “What do you think?”

“Eloise, just talk to me, Grayson said.

Eloise looked up at him. “Yeah, he’s yours.”

Ever since Grayson found out Eloise had a kid and wasn’t married, his heart had been hanging in suspense, like a balloon floating low, not going up or down.

But now, hearing Eloise say it out loud that Noah was his son, it felt like someone had blown on that balloon, and it finally shot up into the clouds.

‘Eloise really gave me a son!’ Grayson thought, his heart racing with shock and happiness.

He slowly knelt down in front of her. His gaze was intense, his hands shaking a little.

“Eloise, why didn’t you tell me?” Grayson asked, his voice trembling.

Eloise met his gaze. “How could I have told you?” She wanted to tell Grayson, but he was nowhere to be found.

For Eloise, trying to find him was like chasing a shadow. If Grayson didn’t want to see her, she just couldn’t get to him at all.

Grayson felt a stab in his chest and hung his head, miserable. “Eloise, I’m sorry.”

He honestly didn’t know what else he could say. He’d been dodging this for years. He only had himself to blame. He should’ve gone back and found Eloise a long time ago.

Eloise reached out, her hand almost touching the face she’d longed to see for five years, but she stopped herself at the last moment.

“Grayson, you don’t have to apologize. It was my choice to have Noah, Eloise said softly.

Grayson took her hand and pressed it to his face, his eyes full of sorrow. “Eloise, you should hold it against me. I should’ve come back for you soone

Chapter 80 He’s Yours

Eloise’s heart twisted painfully, and she looked away. “Grayson, the last five years weren’t miserable for me. Having Noah gave me hope for the future,” she said softly.

It was only after seeing Grayson again that the sadness really hit her. Grayson’s position made her realize a lot of things. All these years, she’d just been holding on by herself.

For Grayson, if she hadn’t come back into his life, he probably would’ve moved on, met someone else, settled down, and had kids. It didn’t have to be her.

The five years she spent searching for him felt like she’d been chasing a bad joke.

She’d spent years wishing to see him again, while Grayson just wanted to never cross paths with her.

Eloise felt a stabbing pain in her chest. She withdrew her hand and rubbed her face.

“Grayson, I’m not going to stop you from seeing Noah. Actually, I really hope you can love him just as much as

I do. I want him to have even more love in his life, and to be truly happy.

“But Noah needs to stay with me. Please, don’t try to take him away from me,” Eloise said softly.

Grayson’s head shot up. “What are you saying? We have Noah together now. Are you really not going to give us a chance?”

Eloise said, “I just hope whatever happens between us doesn’t affect how you treat Noah. Now that you know he’s your son, could you help me get him into a better school?”

“Eloise,” Grayson cut her off, his expression hard and intense. “Noah is my son. Of course I’ll look after him. But right now, this is about us. What are you really trying to say?”

Eloise kept her head down, refusing to meet his eyes. “It’s exactly what you think.”

Grayson suddenly pushed her down onto the bed, looming over her, his jaw clenched in frustration. “What will it take for you to accept me?” he demanded, his voice low and intense.

Eloise looked up at him, her expression calm. “Grayson, we’re done. There’s no future for us.”

“Why?” Grayson demanded, frustration tightening his voice.

“Because I just don’t want to be with you anymore,” Eloise replied, her tone steady.

“Who says you get to decide everything? Five years ago, you broke up with me just like that, then had my child behind my back, and now you think you can just walk away whenever you want?

“You really think I’m just going to let you walk all over me? No way. This time, I’m not letting go.

“I swear, even if it’s the last thing I do, I’m sticking with you. I’ll haunt you for the rest of my life if I have to,” Grayson said, his voice low and intense.

“Grayson,” Eloise tried to protest, but Grayson silenced her with a rough, possessive kiss.

He crushed his lips against hers, his voice hoarse and low. “Say one more thing I don’t want to hear, and I’ll just kiss you speechless.”

By the time Eloise and Grayson finally came out, an hour had already passed.

“Mom, what happened to your mouth?” Noah asked, his eyes wide with concern.

Eloise touched her lips and gave Grayson a dark look. ‘Just because I wouldn’t cooperate, he actually bit me. My lip’s probably split now, she grumbled to herself.

She lied to Noah, “I just bumped into the cabinet.”

Noah really was just a kid. “Mom, you gotta be careful,” he said, worry written all over his face.

“Okay, I will,” Eloise replied.

Noah was easy to fool, but Hannah was nobody’s fool. She grinned so wide her wrinkles scrunched up all over her face.

Grayson walked over with one hand in his pocket, looking way too pleased with himself. “Grandma,” he called
