Rhys couldn’t help but admire Eloise a little. ‘She actually had the guts to go after Grayson? That’s some serious nerve, he thought.

But back then, Grayson was keeping his identity hidden, so Eloise had no idea he was a Pierce. If she’d known, things probably wouldn’t have gone the way they did.

Grayson felt a bit awkward. “Not exactly. I was into her too, so she only managed to win me over because the feeling was mutual.”

Colton gave a small smile. “When both people like each other, things just fall into place.”

Rhys was always up for some Grayson drama. He swaggered over and threw an arm around Grayson’s shoulders. “Come on. How did Eloise manage to win you over?”

Grayson shrugged him off. “Do I owe you an explanation about us?”

Rhys pouted. “Fine, keep your secrets. But let me give you some tips on how to win a girl over.”

Grayson didn’t say a word.

Rhys went on, “Listen, girls are suckers for romance. Go all out and send her flowers every day, right to her office. Make it so everyone in her office is dying of envy.

“Pick her up from work in the flashiest car you can find. Take her shopping and buy her whatever she wants. Trust me, girls go crazy for cute outfits and designer bags.

“And if she’s out with her friends, pick up the tab and send over a bottle of pricey wine. Trust me, that’ll make her and her friends feel like VIPs.”

Rhys just kept going, rattling off all his tips for winning a girl over. “So, Grayson, did you catch all that?” he asked.

Grayson rolled his eyes. “Come on, man, everyone knows that stuff. You can find those tips all over the internet. Alright, you two, scram. I’ve got work to do.”

Colton grinned and hauled Rhys away. Once they were outside, they bumped into Finn.

Colton asked, “Finn, who was it that leaked Eloise’s story online?”

“Camille,” Finn replied.

“What? It was her?” Rhys blurted out. “Can’t believe I actually thought she was alright before. Turns out she’s got some serious scheming going on.”

Finn replied, “She’s already been fired from VirtuFusion Group.”

“Good riddance. Someone like that is nothing but trouble,” Rhys said.

Colton nudged him. “Now you see how bad your taste really is. And seriously, maybe get your eyes checked. Stop going for those messy types and find yourself a real girlfriend for once.”

Rhys raised an eyebrow. “You just don’t get it. By the way, what’s the deal with you and Juliette, Eloise’s friend?”

“Not telling,” Colton replied.

Rhys rolled his eyes.

Grayson called Finn into his office. “Get someone to transfer my place on Clidale Road to Eloise’s name. And make sure it’s all fixed up. Add whatever she might need to make it nice and comfortable for her.

“Make the master bedroom super cozy, and set up a kids’ room with all the stuff little boys like.”

Finn nodded. ‘Man, Mr. Pierce is really all in. He knows she’s got a kid and still goes all out for her. Hopeless romantic,’ he thought.

“Get it done, and make sure Eloise moves in,” Grayson said.

Finn nodded and left.

Hannah took Noah out for a big meal, then spent the whole afternoon playing with him before finally dropping him back home.

Eloise helped Hannah onto the couch. “Are you worn out, Hannah?” she asked, knowing all too well that looking after a child was no easy task.

Hannah rubbed her legs. “I’m alright. Noah’s such a good boy. He even takes care of me.”

Her little great-grandson had been raised so well by Eloise. Unlike most boys his age who were always bouncing off the walls, Noah was calm and easygoing.

Noah stayed close to her the whole time, even holding her hand to help her up the stairs.

Eloise gently rested her hand on Hannah’s leg. “I’ve got this,” she said.

Eloise started gently massaging Hannah’s legs, just enough to ease her fatigue.

Hannah was so touched.

Hannah stayed at Maple Apartments until after dinner before finally heading home. She left with a heavy heart, clearly reluctant to go.

“See you tomorrow, Eloise, and you too, Noah,” Hannah called out, her voice brimming with affection.

Eloise, still worried, walked her downstairs and waited until she was safely in the car.

When Hannah got back to Pierce Manor, everyone was home except Tripp.

Leo hurried over to help her inside. “Mom, what took you so long? We were worried sick.”

Hannah didn’t even blink. “If it weren’t for what’s proper, I’d just move in with Eloise and spend every day with my great-grandson.”

“Mom, you only care about yourself. What about me?” Leo complained. He had been worried sick all day, totally unable to focus on work.

Hannah settled onto the couch.

Christina blurted out, “Mom, are you sure that kid is really Grayson’s? Did you double-check? Did you get a DNA test or something?”

Hannah’s face darkened. “He looks exactly like Grayson. Why would we even need a test?”

Christina hurried to explain, “I’m just being cautious, you know. These days, some girls will do anything to marry into a rich family. You can’t be too careful.”

Hannah shot her a glare. “That boy is definitely one of us. You might be confused, but I know exactly what I’m talking about. Don’t you dare question my great-grandson’s place in this family ever again.”

Christina was about to say something else, but her husband Edgar Welch tugged her arm, signaling her to drop it.

Christina huffed, “Fine, forget about the kid for now. Mom, are you really going to let Grayson marry that

woman?”

Hannah sighed, “I’d love to, but Eloise doesn’t want to marry Grayson.”

“No way. She’s just faking it, right? Did she try to make demands on Grayson? I’ve seen plenty of women like her, have a kid and then use it to milk the guy for all he’s worth.

“Mom, do you think she’s after money, a house, or maybe even shares in VirtuFusion Group?” Christina pressed.

Hannah was furious, glaring at Christina. “How did I end up with such a money-obsessed daughter? Is money all you ever think about?

“You really think everyone is as greedy as you? Eloise hasn’t asked for a single thing. Honestly, I wish she’d ask for something. Whatever it is, I’d say yes in a second.”

Christina scoffed, “See? Mom, you’re totally wrapped around Eloise’s finger. She’s waiting for you to come running with gifts.”

Hannah clutched her chest. “I don’t want to talk to you. You’re going to be the death of me.”

Galen tugged his mom’s arm. “Mom, seriously, give it a rest. I’ve met Eloise. She’s a genuinely good person. not at all like what you’re saying.”
