Chapter 85
Grayson said, “I wanted to introduce her to you guys five years ago.”
Christina’s eyes widened in surprise. “Eloise is the girlfriend who dumped you five years ago?”
Leo was completely caught off guard.

Christina continued, “Didn’t she break up with you because you didn’t have any money? So what’s with her showing up now with a kid?
“And how did she end up with a child? Weren’t you careful? Was this all part of her plan?”
“Aunt Christina,” Grayson’s face darkened, his expression turning stormy.
Christina had never seen her nephew like this before; she shrank back a little, her voice dropping. “I’m just confused, okay? I just wanted to ask.”
Grayson said, “I trust she had her reasons for ending things.”
Grayson wanted to know why Eloise had dumped him so suddenly, without any warning. Things were really sweet between us back then.
Grayson looked up at Christina. “She didn’t set me up. It was my fault.”
He remembered that the night before they broke up, they were still together. Eloise told him it was a safe time, so he didn’t use protection. Noah must have been conceived that night.
“Aunt Christina, Noah is my son, and Eloise is the woman I’ve chosen to be my future wife. Watch your mouth. If you keep talking like this, I’m not coming home if you’re around,” Grayson said.
“Alright, whatever, I’m done. I try to help and this is what I get,” Christina muttered, feeling her good intentions had just been tossed aside. She stood up and stormed off in her high heels.
Edgar shot Grayson an apologetic look before hurrying after her.
With their parents gone, Galen and Joslyn, who were a little intimidated by Grayson, quickly made up excuses and left too.
Leo finally spoke up. “Maybe there was a misunderstanding five years ago. Grayson, why don’t you bring Eloise and Noah over for dinner sometime so we can all meet them properly?”
Grayson thought for a moment. “How about tomorrow?”
Leo was more than happy. “Great. What does Eloise like to eat? I’ll tell the kitchen to whip up some dishes she likes.”
“Eloise isn’t picky. She’s easy to please. She loves ribs, either braised or in soup, shrimp, fish, and braised pork chops.

“She likes her food on the mild side, so don’t go heavy on the salt, and keep the spice to a minimum, just a little kick is enough,” Grayson said.
‘Grayson must really be into Eloise. He’s got all her favorites memorized,’ Leo thought to himself.
“That’s a lot to remember. Just jot it down for maid later,” Leo said.
Hannah, standing off to the side, just rolled her eyes. ‘If only he’d known it’d turn out like this, he wouldn’t have done what he did back then,’ she thought.
“You little brat, Eloise and Noah are crammed into that tiny apartment, while you’re living in a luxury villa. Doesn’t that bother you at all?” Hannah scolded.
Ever since Hannah started doting on Eloise, Grayson went from being her favorite grandson to just “that brat.”
Eloise never had anyone spoil her before, so having Hannah fuss over her was actually pretty great.
Grayson said, “I’ve already put the Clidale Road villa under her name. Someone’s tidying it up, so she can move in soon.”
Hannah scoffed, “Is that all you’ve got? One villa? That’s barely trying.”
Grayson sighed. “Grandma, you know how Eloise is. She’s not even willing to take the villa. Honestly, I have no idea how to convince her to move in. Grandma, can you help me talk her into it?”
Hannah snorted. “Figure it out yourself.”
“Come on, Grandma, you’re so kind and beautiful. Please help me out. You can’t really stand seeing Eloise and Noah stuck in that cramped apartment, right?” Grayson coaxed.
Of course Hannah couldn’t stand it. She’d been upset about it ever since she heard. “I’ll see what I can do,” she said.
Juliette got a call from Colton. “Juliette, I picked up some groceries. I was planning to come over and cook for you later.”
Juliette was driving. “Not today, I’ve got something to take care of. You probably saw the news about Eloise online. I want to go see how she’s doing.”
Colton glanced at the bag of groceries on the passenger seat. “Alright, I was hoping we could have dinner together.”
There was a hint of disappointment in his voice.
‘Damn it, I’m getting soft, Juliette thought.
“Tomorrow night, come over,” she said.
Colton grinned. “Alright.”
Juliette had to admit that Colton was addictive, and she just couldn’t bring herself to push him away.

When Juliette pulled up at Maple Apartments, Eloise and Noah had already eaten. Eloise whipped up some pasta just for Juliette.
As Juliette dug into her pasta, she asked, “Hey Eloise, the news about you disappeared online. Did Grayson have it pulled?”
Eloise leaned her head on her hand, looking a bit lazy. “Yeah, I guess so. I didn’t ask,” she replied.
She checked online earlier and, sure enough, all the news about her was gone.
Juliette asked, “Any idea who did it?”
“Camille,” Eloise replied. Hannah had mentioned that Camille was looking into her. So Camille was probably behind those online stories.
Juliette slammed her fork down on the table. “Camille again? Is she crazy or what? If she’s into Grayson, why doesn’t she just go chase him instead of always messing with you?
“Does she really think kicking you out of the picture will make him fall for her? Seriously, Eloise, how are you so chill about this? Tomorrow, I’m going with you to find Camille. I’m going to teach her a lesson.”
Eloise grinned. “Juliette, it’s not a big deal, why get worked up? I was actually stressing about how to tell Grayson about Noah, and Camille basically did the job for me.”
Juliette scoffed, “Do you even know what people are saying about you out there? The news might be gone, but there are still plenty of people trashing you online.
“They don’t even know Noah is Grayson’s son, and they’re saying some seriously nasty stuff.”
Eloise shrugged. “Whatever, let them say what they want. It’s not like I’m losing anything.”
Juliette shook her head. “You’re really chill about this. And Grayson came to see me today.”
Eloise paused, surprised. “What did he want?”
“He was asking about you,” Juliette replied.
“You told him?” Eloise asked.
“Of course I did. Why wouldn’t I? After everything you’ve been through these years, I wanted to make him feel so bad he can’t sleep at night,” Juliette replied.
Juliette smirked. “You know, he actually broke down in tears. When he left, he was all hunched over, like he’d lost all his swagger.”
Eloise froze.
Juliette waved her hand in front of Eloise’s face. “Feeling bad for him?”
