Grayson Pierce and Eloise Caldwell novel Chapter 89

Chapter 89

Leo smiled. “Alright.”

After Hannah’s warning, Leo kept his mouth shut.

Hannah waved her over. “Eloise, come sit with me.”

Eloise still didn’t get used to the closeness, but she pressed her lips together before getting up and sitting next to Hannah.

Hannah turned to the others. “You all go do your own thing. I want to have a chat with Eloise.”

Leo took Noah’s hand. “Come on, let’s go have some fun outside with Grandpa.”

Noah nodded obediently.

Joslyn pulled Galen along. “Come on, let’s go play games in the room.”

They each had their own rooms at Pierce Manor.

Edgar headed out as well.

Christina shot a glance at Grayson as he headed out, but she stayed right where she was.

Hannah smiled warmly. “Eloise, from now on, if anyone gives you trouble in Ekloland, just tell me. I’ll stand up for you.”

Eloise said gratefully, “Thank you, Grandma!”

She didn’t actually need Hannah to fight her battles, but it was still really touching to hear.

‘Hannah really is such a good person,’ Eloise thought.

Hannah patted her hand. “I liked you from the very first moment I saw you, and now you’ve even given me a great-grandson. It’s fate!”

She felt happy, but also a bit heartbroken. Eloise must have been through so much raising Noah all alone all these years. Hannah couldn’t imagine how she got through it all.

Christina chimed in, “Mom, with Grayson being such a catch, there are plenty of girls dying to have his babies. No need to get so sentimental.”

Hannah gave her a frosty glare. “What are you rambling about?”

“Tell me I’m wrong! The line of girls wanting to marry Grayson could stretch from Ekloland all the way to Quadenville,” Christina scoffed.

“Come on! Why not say the line wraps around the globe? I never knew he was so popular,” Hannah retorted.

Eloise couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

‘Hannah is just too adorable!’ Eloise thought.

Christina pressed her lips together. “Mom, I’m not exaggerating. There really are tons of girls who want to marry Grayson.”

“Oh, please! You think your nephew’s some kind of treasure? Like everyone’s lining up for him?” Hannah scoffed.

“Almost as good as gold,” Christina replied.

“Zip it and go help in the kitchen if you’re so bored,” Hannah snapped.

Christina gave Eloise a dirty look, then got up and walked out.

Hannah gave Eloise an apologetic look. “Eloise, don’t take it to heart. Grayson’s aunt just isn’t good with words.”

“It’s fine, Grandma,” Eloise replied.

Eloise could tell Christina wasn’t a fan of hers, but it didn’t bother her at all. It was not like she ever wanted to marry Grayson in the first place.

Dinner went by in a pretty peaceful atmosphere.

Christina didn’t dare give Eloise any trouble in front of Grayson.

After dinner, everyone gathered in the living room, sipping tea and chatting.

Only the Pierce family was talking, and the conversation kept circling back to Noah.

Leo and Hannah were absolutely smitten with Noah, practically wanting to keep him in their arms all the time.

Even Christina couldn’t help but like the kid.

She might not be a fan of Eloise, but she had to admit Eloise had done a great job raising Noah. He didn’t have any of those annoying habits some kids pick up.

Honestly, Noah was even steadier than her own son.

Eloise was sitting on a single sofa, but Grayson insisted on squeezing in beside her and even tried to take her hand.

Eloise shot him several warning looks, but he just ignored them.

Grayson kept grinning at her with that shameless smile.

With so many people around, Eloise couldn’t really snap at him.

Before she knew it, Grayson was holding her hand, pulling her close by the waist, and resting his head on her shoulder.

The whole Pierce family was stunned.

Joslyn kept screaming.

Hannah jumped, clutching her chest. “What’s with all the screaming? You nearly scared me to death!”

Joslyn screamed again.

“Grayson and Eloise are so sweet together! I can’t take it!” Joslyn fangirled.

Everyone rolled their eyes.

Eloise’s cheeks flushed as she shoved Grayson off her.

Grayson flopped back against the sofa, shooting her a smug grin, clearly enjoying himself.

Leo was stunned. He couldn’t believe what he was seeing.

He never imagined his son would be so bold when it came to romance.

Christina turned her head away, just couldn’t bear to look.

‘Is this really the same cold, bossy nephew I used to know?’ she thought. ‘Looks like even the strongest men end up totally whipped by a woman.

Joslyn finally worked up the nerve to ask, “Grayson, Eloise, who made the first move when you two started dating?”

Eloise coughed, dodging the question.

She’d just thought Joslyn was pretty cool, but now she was totally over her.

‘This girl is such a gossip, Eloise thought.

‘Are we even close enough to be talking about this kind of thing?’ Eloise wondered.

‘Did everyone forget we already broke up?’ Eloise thought.

‘Seriously, we’re not back together!’ she reminded herself.

Joslyn was so deep in her shipping craze, she was practically delirious, totally ignoring Eloise’s awkwardness.

Her eyes practically lit up. “Grayson was the one who made the first move, wasn’t he? Wasn’t he?”

Eloise just kept quiet, refusing to answer.

Grayson let out a soft laugh.

Eloise gave him a warning look, telling him with her eyes not to say anything reckless.

Grayson reached over and pinched her cheek twice, grinning. “Yep, I was the one who went after her.”

Joslyn went off again, screaming.

“Oh my god, I can’t take it! This is so swoon-worthy!” she squealed.

Hannah had finally had enough of Joslyn’s antics. She shot Christina a look. “Please, just take her away. Get her home and have a doctor look at her. She’s clearly lost her mind.”

Christina and Galen each took an arm and practically dragged Joslyn out of the room.

Joslyn wriggled free and practically launched herself onto Eloise, struggling to fish out her phone. “Hey, Eloise, let’s add each other on WhatsApp!”

Eloise figured if she didn’t add her, Joslyn would probably glue herself to her for the rest of the night. So she took out her phone and scanned Joslyn’s code.

Seeing this, Galen whipped out his phone too. “Add me too!”

Eloise scanned his code as well.

Christina came back, grabbed Joslyn, and hauled her away, muttering under her breath, “You little brat, no more of those crazy dumb shows! They’re messing up your head!”

As the manor finally fell silent, Eloise let out a sigh of relief.

She was a bit overwhelmed by Joslyn. Joslyn really was a handful.
