He Gave Her My Eyes A Story of Final Sight novel Chapter 168

Theresia couldn’t help thinking, Well, look at him, finally taking the initiative for once.

Her gaze wandered over to him, drawn in without her even realizing it. He looked just like he had in her dream. She figured if she ever got close enough, he'd probably feel the same too.

Out of nowhere, Garry spoke. “Checking me out, Teresa?”

She snapped back to the present, caught off guard by his question. Meeting his eyes, she hesitated for a moment. Instead of answering, she decided to get down to business.

She’d thought, after last time, she’d be cool and collected. Turns out, she was even less steady than before. Her hands fumbled, nerves getting the better of her.

When she finally finished, Theresia felt like she could breathe again. As she gathered up the first aid kit, Garry’s voice was soft. “Teresa, are you feeling hot?”

Her cheeks went pink. She nodded, not trusting herself to say more.

Garry reached for the remote and turned the air conditioning down. “I figured you might get cold, so I’d turned the heat up before you came.”

Theresia felt a little embarrassed, but she was grateful that he’d offered her an easy way out.

She finished tidying up, then sat down. Garry was watching her, his eyes never leaving her. She tried to sound casual. “Garry, any progress on finding the person I asked about?”

He’d known she’d bring it up sooner or later.

Leaning back against a pile of pillows, Garry looked much better than he had the last couple days. He studied her for a while, then a slow smile curved his lips. “You’re really that eager to see him behind bars?”

She didn’t hesitate. “Yeah. I want it over and done with. Don’t you?”

His answer seemed to depend on something only he knew.

He kept his expression easy, voice casual. “Stay for lunch. Warren probably has something ready.”

She checked the time. It was lunchtime, sure.

But...

“I’ve got someone important to meet this afternoon,” she said. “I’ll skip lunch.”

She expected him to let go, but his grip only tightened. She tried to pull away, but he didn’t budge.

He might be injured, but Theresia could feel his strength. He was definitely not someone who gave in easily.

Then, out of nowhere, Garry asked, “You said yesterday I’m not your type. So, what kind of guy do you like?”
