He Gave Her My Eyes A Story of Final Sight novel Chapter 230

After a while, she suddenly muttered, “Anyone with the last name George is just... not right.”

Simon perked up, always ready for gossip. “Wait, you know another George? Is he a boyfriend? Someone after you? Maybe your secret crush?”

Teresa shot him a look. “It’s someone who already blocked me.”

That was it. Teresa was never going to let this go.

Garry blocking her was something she’d remember forever. Every time it popped into her head, she’d drag it back out and roast him all over again.

Right after saying that, Teresa stood up. Simon tried to ask more, but she didn’t give him a chance.

He kept turning it over in his mind, though, mumbling to himself, “So she was chasing a guy and got rejected. No wonder she’s holding such a grudge. She’s got more resentment than a ghost.”

That short live stream ended up stirring quite a buzz all over Veridian.

Garry lounged on the sofa, watching the replay yet again. Warren, who’d been standing nearby, finally couldn’t take it. “Garry, this is the twentieth time. I think you’ve seen enough.”

Garry put his phone down and leaned back, a lazy grin stuck on his face, proud as ever.

Warren moved a little closer. “But honestly, the only people who’ve ever put Oliver in his place are you and now Teresa.”

At the mention of Oliver, something cold flashed in Garry’s eyes. “He’s been riding high for years, thinking everyone’s scared of his power. He never expected Teresa to come out of nowhere and throw him off his game.”

Anyone else would have folded by now. With the George family’s connections, getting their way inside the police department was nothing for them.

Evidence? Didn’t matter. It was useless.

But Teresa’s live stream forced Oliver to pretty much admit he could do whatever he wanted. With the whole world watching, nobody was going to stick their neck out for him.

Warren was completely in awe of Teresa. He always said the man he admired most was Garry, and the woman he admired most was Teresa.

She shut him down instantly.

She called a driver for him and watched as he left first.

One by one, the others drifted away.

Teresa leaned against her car, letting the wind play with her hair. Her long fingers slid through her dark hair, every move catching the eye.

Veridian felt different from Harrisburg. The night air had a cool edge to it.

But the breeze on her cheeks made her feel alive.

Just then, footsteps echoed nearby. Teresa turned, squinting at the newcomers.

Three men stood in front of her. The one in front swaggered forward, cocky and careless. “Hey, gorgeous. Got a light?”
