He Gave Her My Eyes A Story of Final Sight novel Chapter 238

Now that she thought about it, Teresa had kind of picked the fight first.

She paused for a few seconds, then shot back, “That doesn’t matter. What matters is, when I’m pissed off, you’re the one who pays for it.”

She leaned in and whispered in Nelson’s ear, “I heard your dad wants to team up with Toyar, use their new research to fix your self-driving car problem. Is that right?”

Nelson stiffened. That was supposed to be top secret. Hardly anyone knew. How did Teresa find out?

“How do you know about that?”

Teresa dropped her voice even lower. “Because I invested in Toyar’s company, Nelson. Get it now?”

Nelson looked like she’d just punched him. “No way. That can’t be true.”

After her eye surgery, Teresa had a bit of extra cash, so she put it into a startup from a couple of fresh grads. They’d totally blown her away, making crazy progress in just a few months.

She let go of Nelson and stepped in front of Felton, looking completely at ease. “Oh, and Nelson, I also heard you want to build some fancy condos on the peninsula. Funny thing, I happen to know Raye, the owner of that land.”

Nelson looked like he’d been hit by a truck.

The Main Group’s self-driving project was urgent, and if he messed up the Toyar deal, his dad would never forgive him. Then there was that peninsula project. He’d sworn to his dad he’d pull it off, and if he failed, he’d just be handing a win to his father’s illegitimate son.

Thinking about all that, Nelson’s cockiness vanished. He glared at Teresa, barely holding it together.

Teresa spoke quietly, “So, Nelson, can I take him with me now?”

Nelson clenched his jaw so tight it looked painful, but he had no choice. He had to let it go for now.

Whatever. He’d get his payback someday.

His smile was forced, and he clapped once. “Of course.”

He looked good, honestly, with that black shirt and those white jeans. If he actually knew how to be charming, he’d probably make a killing as a model.

Felton said, “Teresa, you’re loaded. Just your spare change would cover Mom’s medical bills. Why can’t you just help her out?”

She almost laughed. She used to think Felton was smart, but right now, he seemed hopeless.

Teresa didn’t believe for a second that Leila was broke. Even if she didn’t have any cash, all those luxury bags and jewelry she owned would be enough for her to live comfortably forever.

Only Felton would mess up his own life for someone that selfish.

That kind of blind loyalty was going to ruin him someday.

“You said it yourself. It’s my money. I get to decide what I do with it. If I don’t want to give it to Leila, I won’t. That’s not your call.”
