He Gave Her My Eyes A Story of Final Sight novel Chapter 240

“Tomorrow I’m going to Harrisburg for work,” Parrish said, grinning through the phone. “Teresa, you’ll have to play host, right?”

Teresa had honestly thought that moving back to Harrisburg meant she and Parrish would barely cross paths again. She definitely hadn’t expected him to show up here for business.

Then again, people in finance seemed to fly all over the world, always chasing the latest economic news.

She couldn’t really say no. “Sure. Call me when you get to Harrisburg.”

“Deal,” Parrish replied.

They hung up, and a few minutes later, her driver pulled up outside.

On the ride home, Teresa felt more awake than ever. She hadn’t had anything to drink, but her mind was sharp, almost too clear.

Before she realized it, her thoughts wandered back to Garry. And to Nettie.

Garry was probably spending Valentine’s Day with Nettie right now.

Teresa frowned a little, the thought stinging more than she’d admit.

She hated that Garry could still mess with her mood. The more she thought about it, the more irritated she got, until even the passing scenery outside the window seemed annoying.

She managed to get some sleep.

When she woke up, it was seven in the morning.

Naomi had already made breakfast and set it on the table. She’d left early for her senior college classes.

Watching Naomi find so much happiness in her daily routine, always smiling, always busy, made Teresa genuinely happy. It was good to see her mom thriving.

She ate her breakfast quietly, then did the dishes and tidied up.

Teresa pulled her long hair back, planning to spend the day painting at home. She had just picked up a hair clip when her phone started buzzing with a video call from Helena.

She answered, and Helena’s voice came out in a rush. “Teresa, you’re trending online. It’s bad.”

Teresa blinked, still half-asleep. “Wait, what?”

Helena’s worried voice brought her back. “Teresa, are you okay? This is all my fault. If I hadn’t insisted on the male model, none of this would’ve happened.”

Teresa forced herself to sound calm. “It’s not your fault, Helena. Someone’s trying to stir up trouble for me. I have to go out for a bit, but I’ll call you later.”

“Okay. Let me know if you need anything,” Helena said softly.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the country in Veridian, Garry stared at his phone, reading the trending topic over and over. His face was stormy.

Warren hovered nearby, barely daring to breathe.

Why would Teresa hire a male model? No way that guy was better than Garry.

After a long silence, Warren finally spoke up, sounding unsure. “Garry, maybe this is just a misunderstanding. I mean, from what I know of Teresa, she’s not the type to hire a guy for... entertainment.”

He didn’t sound convinced. The photos said otherwise.

Garry’s jaw tightened. He exhaled, slow and heavy. “When a woman hires a male model, what exactly does she do with him?”
