He Gave Her My Eyes A Story of Final Sight novel Chapter 89

Calling it a visual feast was honestly spot on. The whole room was packed with men, each with his own style. Some were dressed for business, some looked laid-back, and a few went all out with flashy outfits that practically screamed for attention.

The second Theresia walked in, every pair of eyes seemed to lock on her. No matter how much life experience she had, she still felt a chill run down her spine as she took it all in.

Helena, on the other hand, looked cool as ever. She was even giving Hanson an imaginary gold star in her mind. He really nailed the assignment. Seriously, nobody got things done like Hanson.

Theresia couldn’t help but mutter, “Why are there so many male models at your party?”

Helena, worried Theresia might bail, quickly hooked her arm and pulled her forward. “Models? Please. These are some of the top guys in Harrisburg. Theresia, if someone catches your eye, don’t hold back.”

Honestly, even someone completely clueless would have caught on by now.

Theresia narrowed her eyes at her friend. “Helena, are you trying to set me up or something?”

Helena shook her head right away, not wanting Theresia to make a run for it. “Of course not. These are just my friends, here to welcome me home. But if you do hit it off with someone, hey, why not?”

Theresia let out a dry laugh and rolled her eyes.

As they made their way to the center of the party, Theresia did spot a few familiar faces, all people she knew from Helena’s circle.

Then, out of nowhere, a good-looking guy walked up to them. Helena greeted him like an old friend, then turned to Theresia. “Carney, this is Theresia, my best friend.”

Carney was wearing a suit that looked like it was made for him. Hands casually tucked in his pockets, he glanced at Theresia, and there was this spark in his eyes. “I know who she is. Teresa.”

Helena saw a golden opportunity to slip away. “Yep, that’s her. She’s amazing.” She leaned in, then added, “Theresia, I’m going to mingle. You two have a chat.”

She took a breath, her face turning serious. “Carney, sorry, but I’m not interested. If you’re looking to get married, you should probably look for someone else.”

Seriously, were all men this full of themselves now?

She started to walk away, gathering her skirt, but Carney stepped right in front of her. “What’s that supposed to mean? You think you’re better than me? Theresia, you’re used goods. Who are you to act all high and mighty?”

He was Helena’s guest, and Theresia hadn’t planned to make a fuss. But if he wanted to be rude, she wouldn’t hold back.

She smiled, her voice sweet but sharp. “Carney, I bet you’ve slept around plenty. Now you suddenly want to settle down. Is it because you can’t keep up anymore? Oh, right, I read somewhere that guys start to lose their edge after twenty-five. No wonder you’re in a rush.”

Carney looked like he was about to explode. He clearly hadn’t expected her to fire back like that.
