Nelson's gaze darkened significantly. He gave a single, definitive nod. "I won't let her bother you again."
Lydia finally let out a breath of relief, her fingers gently slipping away from his sleeve.
The elevator smoothly descended to the underground parking garage. As she slid into the passenger seat of his car, she spoke softly. "You have to attend the charity gala the day after tomorrow. Mrs. Saint explicitly asked me to remind you. You haven't made any public appearances since returning from abroad. As the head of the Saint Group, you need to show your face at these events. I've already picked out a suit for you."
"Alright."
He leaned back against the headrest, his entire aura heavy and somber because of the news about Kieran.
Kieran's transfer was massive news. Arthur and Yvonne were already aware.
Arthur had personally called Nelson, which was why Nelson was currently driving straight to the main family estate.
Yvonne was there as well. Both of them were waiting for him in the grand study.
The true cause behind Kieran's car accident was a secret known only to Yvonne and Nelson. For her own guarded reasons, Yvonne had kept the truth tightly sealed to this day. Even Arthur believed it was simply a tragic twist of fate.
Arthur let out a heavy sigh. "It's for the best that he comes home. Keeping him overseas made it impossible to visit him regularly. It's a miracle he even survived."
Because of Kieran's accident, the burden of the family empire had fallen squarely onto Nelson's shoulders.
Arthur turned his attention to Lydia. She had always been perfectly obedient and supportive within the Saint family. Deep down, the family felt indebted to her and accommodated her every need.
Even the notoriously hyper-critical Yvonne adored Lydia.
Arthur took a deep breath. "You've endured so much, Lydia. I promise you, there will always be a share of the Saint family's equity reserved just for you."
Lydia's lips curled into a gracious smile as she stepped forward. "Arthur, I'm only doing what I should."
Arthur rubbed his temples wearily before turning back to Nelson. "The international transfer protocol is incredibly complex. You need to oversee every detail personally. Ensure there are zero mistakes. And Nelson, make sure you treat Lydia right. If she suffers even a fraction of a grievance, I will hold you personally responsible."
