The elder Mr. Saint and Arthur Harrington had once been fierce political rivals. 'Retirement' was just a polite way of saying Mr. Saint had lost the battle and had been forced to step down.
However, for a man who had commanded such immense power for a lifetime, a defeat like that wasn't particularly unusual. In those circles, very few managed to maintain their standing until the very end. The elder Mr. Saint had technically retired with his legacy intact; his only regret was failing to climb to the ultimate peak and having to watch his rival get there instead.
Fortunately, the two families had never formed a blood feud. And thanks to Lydia's presence, they had even managed to turn hostility into harmony.
Yvonne tolerated Lydia precisely because of the staggering amount of power backing her.
"If your brother wakes up, that would be for the best. You can finally clear the air between the three of you. If he doesn't... sigh. I'm worried your grandfather will make a move. Regardless, keep a close eye on his vitals. Make sure no one finds out he's been transferred back."
The hospital was owned by the Saint family, and Kieran's room was strictly confidential. The entire floor had practically been cleared out.
Aside from a select few within the family, no one knew he was here.
Nelson looked down at the man lying in the bed. He had always had a good relationship with his older brother, which was why learning the truth back then had been so unbearable.
The hatred had been festering in his chest for four years.
He blinked slowly and left the hospital.

After driving off in Caleb's car, Juniper realized she had left him stranded and felt a pang of guilt.
She pulled over a few miles down the road and gave him a call.
Caleb sounded exasperated, though he didn't blame her. "Your commission for tonight has already been transferred. You can hold onto the car for now. Since I have to fire the other appraisers, you'll need to come to the auction house more often until I find replacements. Consider the car a temporary perk."
She didn't currently own a car and having to take cabs to the auction house every time was a hassle.
Borrowing Caleb's car would definitely make things easier.
Juniper, who had already stepped out of the vehicle, didn't argue. "Alright. Thank you, Caleb."
