He Gave Me Hearing, Then Taught Me What Silence Really Means novel Chapter 309

It took half an hour to re-bandage his wound, securing a fresh layer of gauze.

Having no desire to stay, Nelson stood up. "Get some rest."

He looked incredibly annoyed, and Lydia knew it was because of Juniper.

A vicious glint flashed through her eyes, though she kept her voice perfectly sweet. "Mhm, you too."

As Nelson drove away, the irritation still gnawed at him.

Julian Sterling chose that exact moment to call, his tone completely careless. "Hey, Juniper asked me to find her a solid loan shark a while back, so I gave her the contact for Gideon Xavier's underground crew. Those guys are ruthless—they don't leave any crumbs. Seriously, Nelson, isn't that a bit much? I mean, with you breathing down her neck, is she really that strapped for cash?"

When Julian recommended someone, he meant business.

To him, anything involving money was a non-issue. At the end of the day, Nelson would be the one bailing her out anyway.

Nelson couldn't be bothered to entertain him. He kept one hand lazily draped over the steering wheel. "She's not desperate for money."

"Oh, so there's someone she wants to destroy? Gotta say, I didn't see that coming. Her thirst for vengeance is intense. Let me tell you, that app is a total scam. Pair that with those loan sharks, and whoever she's targeting is going to be wiped off the face of the earth. I thought Juniper was just a harmless little bunny? I can't believe she came up with a scheme this vicious."

A harmless little bunny?

Nelson sneered. *Just wait until she bites you. Then you'll see.*

Julian wanted to dig for more details, but Nelson hung up on him mid-sentence.

Julian chuckled to himself. Nelson always lost his mind whenever Juniper was involved.
