"Same spot as always. Got to say, hanging out with you is the way to go, Forrest. That idiot called us this morning saying he took out a loan shark loan and skipped town. Who does he think he is, trying to pull a fast one on city loan sharks? He's probably dead in a ditch by now. No idea where he got that stupid idea. We tried to warn him, but he wouldn't listen. His phone's been dead all day, and we're too scared to call the cops in case they think we're involved."

Forrest aggressively gripped his own hair as the voice on the other end rambled on.

He had a massive ego. Even at rock bottom, he absolutely refused to admit he had lost everything.

He yanked at his hair in pure frustration, but ultimately forced himself to show up.

When the two men saw his completely disheveled, hollow-eyed appearance, they were shocked. "Whoa, Forrest, what happened to you?"

Forrest collapsed into his chair, his entire body trembling. Even his voice shook. "A relative of mine ran into some trouble."

The guys didn't actually care enough to comfort him. They were just there for a free meal, so they grabbed the menus and started ordering immediately.

But before they could ask for the expensive crab and seafood, Forrest snapped, "Aren't you sick of eating the same garbage every day? Just get a bowl of fried rice each and call it a night."

Both men thought he was joking. "Come on, Forrest, don't be like that! You're loaded, don't be stingy now. We're your boys, we're backing you up for life!"

Forrest felt a volcanic rage boiling inside him. He forced a stiff, unnatural smile. "I've treated you guys to a dozen meals already. Isn't it time you returned the favor? Why don't you two cover the bill tonight? We're brothers, right?"
