He Gave Me Hearing, Then Taught Me What Silence Really Means novel Chapter 319

Nelson hovered around her like an anxious puppy, wanting to help her up but terrified she would just shove him away.

He paced frantically, stumbling over his own feet. "You... wait, no wonder you've been throwing up lately. It's morning sickness, isn't it? God, I'm such an idiot, how did I not realize this sooner? The timing... it matches up. I'm taking you to the hospital right now. We have to get you checked!"

Juniper shook off his hand and quickly rinsed her mouth with the water, finally feeling a bit of relief in her stomach.

Nelson gripped her wrist firmly, a flicker of joy in his eyes that he hadn't even noticed himself.

"I'm taking you to get checked."

Juniper was incredibly weak right now. She yanked her arm away. "Let go."

But Nelson held on tight. "Juniper, you don't have a choice. You're getting checked."

Juniper's vision swam with dizziness. She really didn't want to fight with him. She was so incredibly sick of fighting with Nelson Saint.

Nelson could tell she hated his guts. He practically forced her into the passenger seat. "Sit still. I'm taking you to my family's hospital. We'll have the results immediately."

Juniper felt too sick to keep struggling, so she closed her eyes and leaned back.

Nelson leaned over to buckle her seatbelt, clearly completely flustered. He swallowed hard a few times. "You... so you're actually having morning sickness? How could I be so careless? I completely forgot about this."

He looked deeply annoyed with himself. He grabbed a wet wipe and gently dabbed the sweat off her forehead.

Juniper turned her head away, her eyelashes fluttering. Her mind was entirely consumed by the face of the man she had just seen.

She had to find out who he was!

She pressed her lips together, wracking her brain for anyone who could help her, until she finally landed on a name.

Zara Zimmer was deeply embedded in their social circles now. Finding out the identity of a single young man shouldn't be difficult for her.

She was never going to let him get away with it, or the nightmare would haunt her for the rest of her life.

Feeling a hand wiping the sweat from her face again, she instinctively slapped it away.

Nelson pulled his hand back, his jaw tightening, and slammed his foot on the gas.

He was tense the entire drive, his palms slick with sweat.

As soon as they arrived at the hospital, he rushed Juniper straight to the lab for bloodwork. However, on their way to the department, they ran into Lydia and Mirabelle Thorne.

Mirabelle had been feeling unwell, and Lydia had rushed over to keep her company.

Now, both women were staring at Nelson dragging Juniper toward the maternity wing.

All the color drained from Lydia's face as she stared in pure disbelief.

Mirabelle frowned, instinctively grabbing Lydia's hand. "Don't panic just yet. Let's go see what's happening."

Lydia looked utterly terrified as she hurried after them.

By this time, Juniper had already had her blood drawn. She wanted to scream at Nelson that she took her birth control religiously every single time, and there was absolutely zero chance she was pregnant with his child.
