He Gave Me Hearing, Then Taught Me What Silence Really Means novel Chapter 337

In a hotel room across town, Lydia lay pinned beneath a man who was aggressively kissing her neck.

Two hours later, she walked into the bathroom to shower.

The man leaned against the headboard, lazily smoking a cigarette.

Lydia quickly washed herself spotless. She never allowed this man to leave any marks on her body.

Seeing the expression on her face, the man found it amusing. "Your motives are a little too obvious."

Lydia snatched the cigarette from his lips and took two drags herself.

She had grown up in the same circles as these men. She was always the golden girl, the one everyone adored.

This man knew all about her bitter resentments. He knew she wasn't a good person, but he always stood by her side.

After two puffs, she tossed the cigarette butt into the nearby trash can.

In everyone's eyes, Lydia was a flawless heiress, a socialite that sparked envy wherever she went.

She was surrounded by adoration, but she wanted all of it exclusively for herself.

Whether it was Kieran's love or Nelson's love, she wanted it all.

She coughed twice, clearly unaccustomed to smoking.

"Gideon Xavier knows about our relationship. He's even using it to threaten me."

The man raised an eyebrow, pinching her chin. "You asked me to deal with Juniper, and now you want me to handle this Gideon guy too? Don't you think you're offering too little in return for all this?"

Lydia frowned, slapping his hand away. "Don't touch me like that."

The gesture was too frivolous; she hated it.

The man found it hilarious, letting out a low chuckle. "If Nelson touched you like that, would you still hate it?"

Lydia froze, instinctively swallowing hard. "He's different."

She never bothered to hide her special treatment of Nelson, nor her obsessive love for him. She needed Nelson to revolve entirely around her.

The man pulled her into a hug. "I have to say, Lydia, you have everything. Aren't you being a bit too greedy? Kieran loved you. He was willing to do anything for you, and look at how he ended up. I love you too. Just throw me a bone, and I'll charge into battle for you. Isn't this enough? Nelson just relies on his good looks and that arrogant, aloof attitude. Or is that the only type you women actually like?"
