Faced with Melanie's hysterical performance, Scarlett and Julian barely batted an eye.
They were perfectly calm, completely in sync.
Without a word, they reached out, their fingers intertwining. They stood shoulder-to-shoulder, a united front, looking at Melanie as if she were a statue.
They didn't even bother wasting breath to explain anything; their actions said it all.
Seeing their deeply affectionate, intertwined hands felt like a critical hit to Melanie.
Clutching her chest, her entire body trembled violently as she stomped her foot in pure frustration.
"Fine! If that's your choice, I have nothing more to say!"
"But you listen to me, Scarlett! You sent me away time and time again, and you better watch your back! I am not letting this go! Sooner or later, I will make you pay for everything, with interest!"
Her scream was loud enough to silence the entire restaurant.
After her outburst, she felt absolutely wretched. Any desire to eat at this trendy spot vanished completely. Grabbing Veronica by the arm, she stormed out.
Watching their furious retreat, Scarlett shook her head, an exasperated sigh escaping her lips.
"What a buzzkill. We finally come out for a nice dinner, and of course, we run into the people I want to see least."
Julian affectionately smoothed her hair. "My fault. Next time, I'll book a private dining room."
With a smooth, practiced motion, he slid her favorite dessert across the table toward her.
Scarlett immediately smiled.
"How is it your fault? Why do you always take the blame for everything?"
He gave her a warm, knowing smile.
"If my wife is unhappy for more than three seconds, it's my failure."
"To punish myself, I've decided to personally draw your bath tonight. Full service, you won't have to lift a finger."
Her face flushed crimson instantly.
She looked confused.
"Why?"
He gave her a wicked, secretive grin. "You're going to need all your energy. Don't you think?"
It hit her a second later. Her face turned an even deeper shade of red, burning like a ripe apple.
Lately, she had become very well acquainted with his... stamina.
It was as if a switch had been flipped inside him. In a short amount of time, he had introduced a lot of new things to their bedroom, always catching her off guard but leaving her completely addicted.
She couldn't even let herself think about those memories right now; every single frame was strictly R-rated.
Looking at the overly enthusiastic man sitting across from her, she didn't even know how to respond. She just buried her head and focused intently on eating.
Meanwhile, neither of them noticed that at the table right next to them, a man in a baseball cap had quietly turned on a recording device, capturing their entire conversation and transmitting it in real-time.
