He Lost Me to His Best Friend novel Chapter 1038

It was as if the drama unfolding in the Flynn family didn't even exist in Zachary's world.

Scarlett stared at Yardley's text, shook her head, and was about to lock her screen without replying.

Then, a second text chimed in:

*"I need to discuss the AM Capital investment with you. Can you make time? I urgently need to see you."*

Scarlett handed the phone to Zachary. "What do you think about the funds?"

Zachary glanced at the screen, a cynical smirk playing on his lips. "He's got a hidden agenda. The business talk is just an excuse to see you."

Scarlett sighed. "I probably should hear him out. With his mother and sister triggering a scandal like this, Flynn Group's stock is going to take a massive hit."

"Your fifty million dollar investment wasn't pocket change. If the company goes under, that money goes down with it. Wouldn't that be a disaster?"

Before she could finish, Zachary tapped his own screen. "Flynn Group is actually holding steady. Yardley moved fast. He issued a brutal press release instantly cutting ties with them. The market barely flinched."

Scarlett was genuinely shocked. "He cut ties? Yardley?"

"That doesn't sound like him at all. His protective streak over his family was ingrained in his DNA. How could he just cut them off?"

Julian chimed in, reading through a corporate analysis thread. "He's evolved. The crisis management was flawless this time."

"Why don't you grab dinner with him tonight, Scarlett? I'll tag along. Let's see what he has to say."

Scarlett thought about it for a moment and nodded. "Alright. I'll text him back."

Across the city, Yardley sat rigidly in his office, pretending to review documents while his eyes kept darting to his phone.
