Realizing he was up against a monster, but unsure of who this guy actually was, Abbott clutched his bleeding arm and tried to put up a tough front.
"I'm warning you, this is my territory!"
"You start shooting off a gun in here, and you better believe I'll—"
Before the threat even left his mouth, Zachary fired again, annoyed by the talking.
*Bang!*
The bullet ripped through Abbott's left arm, shattering the bone and sending a spray of blood onto the concrete.
Abbott collapsed to his knees in agony.
He hadn't expected this guy to be so utterly ruthless.
Gritting his teeth against the searing pain, he realized they were completely outmatched. He shot a frantic look at his men, signaling them to fall back to the van.
Knowing when to quit, Zachary lowered the gun and slipped it back into his jacket.
He popped the driver's side door open and gestured for Julian.
Fighting through the agonizing pain in his back and ribs, Julian dragged himself into the backseat without a second thought.
Zachary threw the car into reverse, ready to spin around and hit the exit ramp.
But as he checked his mirrors, he froze.
That obnoxious pink Lamborghini was parked right behind his bumper, blocking his exit.
Driven purely by curiosity, Juno had tailed him all the way here.
She had never expected to stumble into a brutal, life-or-death shootout right out of an action movie. She was completely spellbound.
As the green supercar started to reverse, her eyes met Zachary's.
An overwhelming surge of adrenaline and excitement took over.
Thinking the danger was over, she threw her door open and hopped out, waving frantically at Zachary.
"Oh my god, Zachary! That was insane! You are officially my hero! That was the coolest thing I've ever seen!"
