He Lost Me to His Best Friend novel Chapter 1087

Julian had said similar things countless times before, and Scarlett used to think he was just sweet-talking her.

But now, she believed with absolute certainty that he genuinely meant every word.

Leaning against his broad chest, soaking in his warmth, Scarlett truly felt like the luckiest woman in the world.

It was the exact feeling she had dreamed of for so long.

"Zara is off today, and neither of our moms are around. So you're on kid-duty while I whip up dinner for us," Julian chuckled after they held each other in comfortable silence for a moment, pressing another kiss to her cheek.

"Mm-hmm, she's quietly playing with her blocks over there. I'll sit right here and keep an eye on her. Thanks, Hubby," Scarlett replied with a soft laugh.

Julian relished hearing her call him 'Hubby'. He grinned widely. "It's my pleasure, honey. Be right back."

He turned and strode cheerfully toward the kitchen.

Watching his broad back retreat, a wave of profound sweetness washed over her heart.

"Mommy, play with me!" Dawn, who had been intensely stacking her blocks, accidentally knocked over her tall tower. She immediately pouted her little lips in frustration and called out to Scarlett.

Scarlett instantly pulled her gaze away and gave her full attention to playing blocks with Dawn.

Julian was incredibly efficient. In just half an hour, he had prepared four dishes, a soup, and perfectly cooked rice.

He carried the food to the table and then walked over to call Scarlett and Dawn for dinner.

"Daddy! Carry me to wash my hands!"

Dawn had developed a deep, instinctual reliance on Julian. The moment she saw him, she happily waved her little hands.

Julian immediately scooped her off the floor, planting a natural, affectionate kiss on her cheek.
