He Lost Me to His Best Friend novel Chapter 126

The agony was so severe she wanted to jump out a window. This time, she genuinely meant it.

Gwen was irritated beyond belief, her own blood boiling from her daughter's hysterics, though she tried desperately to suppress it.

“Enough! Calm the hell down! You keep acting like this, and you'll drive me insane, too.”

“What are we supposed to do now? Julian is freezing you out, your father is threatening to disown you unless you apologize to Scarlett, and not a single soul from the Croft family has bothered to check in... If this keeps up, you're finished.”

“Thank God you still have Aunt Corinne and Yardley doting on you. At least they're on your side. Forget about your three older cousins. The eldest is clearly against us, and the other two refuse to take a stance. They're hiding overseas, playing both sides perfectly so they don't offend anyone. Fucking hypocrites.”

“You can't give up now. You have no one else to rely on. You have to latch onto Yardley and Aunt Corinne and make sure they fight alongside us! Don't worry, after what Jacqueline pulled today, I'm absolutely with you on this. We're going to tear them apart!”

Gwen's tirade finally brought some clarity to Sylvia's chaotic mind.

She was right. They weren't out of options yet. She still had her mother, Aunt Corinne, and Yardley. Moreover, she had heard that Yardley's father was planning to return soon to deal with Scarlett personally once his business trip was over.

The Croft family was useless to her now, and her father Silas was a lost cause. The Flynn family was her only lifeline!

Sylvia forced herself to calm down, her mind racing. She had to find a way to strike back at Scarlett—hard!

“Mom, let me think. Just let me think.”

“I refuse to believe that bitch and her mother don't have a weak spot. They have to, and we've just been missing it.”

“I'm not going to let them win. What do they even have in Bay City anyway... Oh, right. That club, La Belle Nuit!”

Sylvia's eyes lit up with malicious glee as the realization hit her.

She exchanged a look with Gwen, a silent, wicked understanding passing between them.

Gwen's anger morphed into a vicious smile.

“Why didn't I think of that? Yes, we hit them exactly where it hurts!”

“Scarlett had the audacity to scheme and burn down our villa, so we'll give her a taste of her own medicine...”

Sylvia finished the thought, high-fiving her mother sharply. “We burn down La Belle Nuit!”

Gwen looked thrilled, practically vibrating with excitement.

“It's perfect. This plan is absolutely bulletproof. But we need a foolproof cover so no one can trace it back to us!”

Sylvia drew a thumb across her throat with a sinister smirk.

“That's easy. We just pay off one of their own employees to do the dirty work. Money makes the world go round.”

“When the cops investigate, they'll just chalk it up to an internal staff dispute. I'll get someone to look into their employee drama right now.”

Gwen nodded emphatically. After holding her breath for so long, she finally saw a ray of hope.
