Julian stood at the doorway, fists clenched, his face so dark with fury it looked like a brewing storm.
He locked his unblinking gaze onto Sylvia, making her blood run cold. She began to tremble uncontrollably.
Hiding behind Yardley, she wrapped her arms around his waist even tighter.
Yardley's first instinct was to push her away, but feeling her shake, he hesitated.
He glared at Julian, his eyes glacial. "You have the nerve to show your face here! Get out!"
Julian's gaze remained fixed, pointing a finger at Sylvia. "Did she show you the video?"
Yardley's expression grew even colder. "I never imagined the two of you could be so despicable."
Julian's eyes were calm but masked a simmering rage. "Has it ever crossed your mind that we might have been set up?"
Without another word, Julian lunged forward, grabbed Sylvia from behind Yardley, and yanked her out. He roared, "You've really outdone yourself, Sylvia!"
"I used to think you were just genuinely stupid. I didn't realize you were malicious, too."
She stumbled but kept a death grip on Yardley's hospital gown.
Seeing the fiery rage in Julian's eyes, Yardley stepped in front of Sylvia, his voice rising sharply. "You and Scarlett are the ones who did this, and you're screaming at Sylvia?!"
"Julian! Are you trying to tell me she forced you on top of my wife?"
Julian met his gaze, the corners of his eyes tinged with red. "She slipped something into Scarlett's drink. Scarlett was completely unconscious."
"Yardley, it seems you really are effortlessly manipulated by her."
"Do you honestly think Scarlett and I are that brainless? Even if we were having an affair, wouldn't we know how to hide it? You think we'd just leave the interior lights on and let someone film us?"
Yardley sneered. "You expect me to believe you?"
"You think Sylvia is some kind of mastermind who could drug your drinks right under your noses?"
