He Lost Me to His Best Friend novel Chapter 313

His pulse skyrocketed, hammering against his ribs. The sudden proximity shattered his composure.

Before he could react, he felt a sudden sting of antiseptic on his shoulder.

"What happened to you?" Scarlett frowned, her voice right by his ear. "You're covered in bruises, even on your back. Did you get into a fight? Tell me the truth—is this because of me?"

Snapped back to reality, Julian's eyes instantly cooled. "No. It has nothing to do with you. Let's just drop it."

Seeing his refusal to explain, Scarlett didn't press the issue and finished bandaging him up.

Gordon returned with the washed fruit. Scarlett glanced at the bowl, a flicker of surprise crossing her features. These were all her favorites. She carefully tracked her nutritional intake, and blueberries, strawberries, and cherry tomatoes were her go-to snacks. It was surprising that Julian had noticed.

She popped a blueberry into her mouth, chewing thoughtfully.

Meanwhile, Talia was happily digging into the pastries Chatwin had bought. She scooped up a bite and offered it to Scarlett with a playful wiggle of her eyebrows. "Come on, try a bite. It's heaven."
