He Lost Me to His Best Friend novel Chapter 42

Sylvia was speechless.

A wave of anger rushed to her head. Scarlett's words made her chest tight with frustration, leaving her utterly unable to speak.

Corinne was already pacing the floor in a fury. She dialed Yardley's number while shouting.

"This is outrageous! Absolutely outrageous!"

"Yardley, hurry back to Orchard Villa! You need to open your eyes and see exactly what kind of woman you married!"

Yardley had just been shut out at The Grandview.

He was wondering where Scarlett had gone when he received the call. Hearing that she was back at Orchard Villa, he immediately rushed over.

On the drive back, his head was buzzing.

Accustomed to being in a position of power and keeping everything under control, he experienced the terrifying sensation of losing his grip for the very first time.

At that moment, he felt as though he had been plunged into an ice bath.

He desperately needed to calm down and talk to Scarlett.

Otherwise, if he let her continue to burn everything to the ground, the entire situation would spiral completely out of control.

Yardley ordered his driver to speed all the way there.

He had no outlet for his pent-up anger, and a rare stress breakout appeared on his usually flawless complexion, a clear sign of his internal frustration.

He just couldn't understand it. He was only helping his best friend take care of his wife and child. It wasn't like he had committed a crime.

No matter how angry Scarlett was, did she really need to take it this far?

Resigning, asking for a divorce, exposing things online... Her relentless maneuvers left him absolutely no room to breathe.

With her acting so recklessly, didn't she consider that he might not forgive her when she inevitably came crawling back?

The atmosphere inside the car was suffocating.

"A few days ago, Mr. Flynn bought a lot of expensive supplements. They were meant to help you recover, but when she saw them, she ordered me to prepare them all for her. I didn't dare refuse."

...

Leah noticed Scarlett's expression growing colder and quickly stopped herself. She offered a quiet warning.

"But, ma'am, you still need to endure this for now. Mr. Flynn listens to whatever Ms. Stetson says, and his mother is on her side too. Don't fight with him anymore. If you keep pushing, it might really end in divorce."

"I'm not afraid. If we really divorce, he's the one who loses, not me."

Just as Scarlett finished speaking, Yardley walked into the living room and caught her exact words.

His face instantly darkened.

"Haven't you made enough of a scene? How long are you going to keep this up?"

"Kicking Sylvia out without any justification... How am I supposed to explain this to Julian? Scarlett, you're being incredibly immature right now!"
