He Lost Me to His Best Friend novel Chapter 450

Seeing him reach for the baby, Scarlett leaped out of her chair and snatched Dawn right out of his hands.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?"

Yardley's eyes were frantic and red.

"Listen to me, Scarlett. We are transferring her to Sterling City right now. I know the top specialists there. We will have them run a completely new set of tests."

"Are you out of your mind?! Her fever just broke! She's incredibly weak! She can't survive a trip to Sterling City right now!"

There was no way in hell she was agreeing to that.

"Stop playing the part of the devoted father, Yardley!"

Trembling violently, tears welling up in her eyes, she screamed at him, completely unhinged.

"If you actually cared about her, you wouldn't be trying to control everything when she's fighting for her life!"

"Let me make this perfectly clear—Dawn is my entire world! I decide where she goes and how she gets treated! I am not letting you gamble with her life!"

"Stop being so damn stubborn!" he roared back, the veins pulsing in his forehead as his chest tightened in agony.

"This is leukemia, Scarlett! This isn't a game! Sterling City has the best treatments and the best doctors! Keeping her here is a death sentence, don't you get that?!"

"I am her mother! I get it better than anyone!"

"If you have a shred of humanity left, you will stop putting on this pathetic show trying to prove how much you love her!"

"When she was perfectly healthy, you didn't give her a second of your time. Who exactly are you performing for now?!"

Clutching the sleeping baby tightly against her chest, the dam finally broke. She stared at him, her eyes drowning in absolute despair and hatred.

"Get the hell out of my sight, Yardley."
