He Lost Me to His Best Friend novel Chapter 460

Sylvia had lost a massive amount of weight, her eyes deeply sunken into her skull.

As she stumbled out the doors, she looked so fragile a strong breeze could have knocked her over.

Melanie rushed forward to catch her, though she couldn't stop herself from scolding.

"Sylvia! I don't mean to kick you while you're down, but how could you be so stupid?!"

"Do you have any idea how much you screwed our entire family over by forging a DNA test?!"

"If it was fake, the least you could have done was give me a heads-up! Look at the mess we're in now! We handed them the ultimate blackmail material! We wanted to destroy them, and instead, we're the ones bleeding out!"

Just thinking about the cascading disasters made Melanie's blood boil.

But Sylvia was still the family she had watched grow up.

Yardley could turn his back on her, but Melanie couldn't just let her rot.

At the very least, she had to pull them out one by one.

As for her mother and Aunt Gwen, they would have to think of something else.

Sylvia's face was chalk-white, her body trembling as she spoke weakly.

"Melanie... what's the point of... of saying all this now?"

"Do you think... I wanted this to happen? I wanted that bitch Scarlett permanently wiped from our lives so... so we could finally have some peace!"

"How was I supposed to know she was this ruthless? That she... she could actually ruin us like this."

Thinking back to the torments she had suffered inside, venomous hatred coursed through Sylvia's veins.

Standing off to the side with her arms crossed, Veronica remarked casually.

"If you ask me, it isn't that Scarlett is too strong. It's that all of you are far too weak!"

"But don't worry. Her karma has finally caught up with her!"

Veronica was completely oblivious to Sylvia's twisted obsession with Yardley.

Assuming they were just cousins, she didn't bother hiding her blush, looking entirely smitten as she brought him up.

Sylvia's heart violently seized, her voice dropping to a terrifying chill.

"What did... Yardley say?"

Veronica looked at them with a mix of shyness and smug victory.

"He told me that as soon as his divorce with Scarlett is finalized, he's going to consider dating me. Sylvia, Melanie, you two have to put in a good word for me so I can officially join your family soon—"

Sylvia felt like a bomb had just gone off in her skull.

She glared at Veronica in psychotic disbelief, screaming at the top of her lungs.

"Impossible! Yardley would never say that!"
