He Lost Me to His Best Friend novel Chapter 604

Scarlett had arrived in an excellent mood.

But the moment she stepped out of her car, she saw an excavator and a bulldozer parked at the gates of Orchard Villa. The entire front courtyard had been torn up by the heavy machinery, and the massive gates were completely destroyed.

Her good mood plummeted instantly.

Just as she was about to step forward, Yardley, Corinne, her three daughters, and Sylvia walked out from the ruins of the courtyard.

Under the blazing sun, the group glared at her, their eyes practically shooting fire.

Scarlett instinctively stopped in her tracks. Before she could even say a word, Melanie lunged forward like a rabid animal.

"You greedy bitch! How dare you scam my brother out of so much money! I... I'll kill you!"

Seeing Scarlett standing there alone, Melanie's sanity completely vanished. Without a second thought, she charged at her, fully intending to beat her to a pulp.

However, before she could even get close, a sleek black Maybach suddenly sped onto the scene.

Tires screeched piercingly against the pavement, and a man with impossibly long legs swiftly stepped out.

Just a split second before Melanie could crash into Scarlett, a large, well-defined hand firmly clamped down on the back of Melanie's head.

The man twisted his wrist, smoothly redirecting her momentum with a sharp pull, followed by a forceful shove.

Melanie lost her balance completely and went flying awkwardly through the air, crashing heavily into the side of the parked bulldozer with a loud thud.

"Melanie!"

Corinne and her daughters gasped in unison.

Clarissa and Sylvia immediately sprinted over, dragging Melanie—who looked like she had nearly snapped her spine in half—out from the metal scoop of the bulldozer.

Stellan's smile widened wickedly. He extended his hand toward her, his voice low and magnetic.

"Are you sure?"

Melanie's soul felt as if it had been instantly ensnared. Driven by pure instinct, she reached her hand out toward him, two bright blushes blooming across her cheeks.

"I..."

Her heart was racing wildly. The moment her hand was engulfed by Stellan's long, pale fingers, she felt like she had ascended straight to heaven.

The man yanked her sharply into his chest, wrapping an arm around her waist and staring down at her face with a brazen, wicked gaze.

Melanie felt her heart pounding so frantically it might leap out of her throat. She instinctively closed her eyes, completely swooning.

Right at that moment, the man's arms suddenly tensed, and before she could even register what was happening, he effortlessly hurled her straight up into the air!
