"Ahhh!"
The sudden, terrifying sensation of weightlessness caused Melanie to let out a piercing, bloodcurdling shriek.
No one had expected Stellan to actually do it. The entire group flinched in horror.
They could only watch helplessly as Melanie was launched into the air like a sack of potatoes, tracing a steep parabolic arc.
Yardley was the first to snap out of it. He sprinted forward, throwing his arms out to catch her.
Clarissa, Catherine, and Sylvia scrambled to join him. The four of them clumsily braced themselves, managing to catch Melanie just a split second before she smashed into the pavement.
The massive impact sent a shockwave through Yardley's arms, nearly fracturing his bones.
At the same time, the suppressed anxiety and rage that had been boiling inside him all night finally erupted.
He yanked his head up and roared furiously,
"Enough! Stop this madness!"
"The divorce is finalized in my mind! No one else gets to interfere! Scarlett and I are going to City Hall alone to file the paperwork!"
Yardley was mentally exhausted to his absolute limits. He desperately wanted this all to end immediately.
He shot a venomous glare at Stellan.
The man's prank on his sister infuriated him, but there was absolutely nothing he could do about it.
He had realized a long time ago that the man by Scarlett's side was no ordinary bodyguard. Not only was he tall, handsome, and incredibly lethal, but he was fiercely loyal to Scarlett.
From a purely male instinct, Yardley could sense that this man's intentions went far beyond simple protection. His eyes held an undisguised, burning admiration for her.
But what could Yardley say?
He couldn't win in a fight.
And he couldn't win her back.
For a powerful CEO, being reduced to this state was utterly humiliating.
But as he reminded himself of the massive investment capital waiting for him, his confidence returned. No matter how pathetic he felt right now, he was convinced that in the near future, he would turn the tables and make Scarlett regret her decision today.
