She clutched her chest, still trying to catch her breath. "Three guys confessing to me at the exact same time, all declaring they're going to win me over. My god, since when did I become the most sought-after woman in the city?"
Talia nearly doubled over laughing at Scarlett's shell-shocked expression. "Hey, being chased is a good thing! Especially when it's by three completely different flavors of incredibly hot men!"
"If I were you, I wouldn't reject any of them. String them all along! Take one out to parade in front of Yardley today, and take another one tomorrow. Drive him absolutely insane! Let him see exactly what a prize he threw away!"
Talia pulled up a chair and sat directly across from Scarlett, resting her chin in her hands and studying her friend with an admiring gaze. "But seriously, Scarlett..."
"Ever since you became a mom, you've completely leveled up."
"You used to be pretty, but a bit thin and tired-looking. Now? You're literally glowing. You have this ethereal, elegant vibe going on. No wonder those guys are losing their minds over you. Honestly, just sitting across from you right now, I kind of want to make out with you myself!"
Talia lunged forward, playfully trying to tackle Scarlett with hugs and kisses. They giggled and wrestled for a minute before finally settling back into their chairs.
"Am I really glowing that much?" Scarlett asked, still a bit skeptical. She walked over to the mirror and took a long, hard look at her reflection.
It was true. Ever since she let her pixie cut grow out into a sleek, shoulder-length style, and started putting a little effort into her wardrobe, her entire aura had shifted.
Her features had always been striking, but with just a touch of light makeup, her luminous skin and radiant complexion were undeniable. She truly looked like a completely different person.
"Absolutely," Talia confirmed. "Yardley losing you is the biggest tragic fumble of his life!"
"And your little girl is getting cuter by the day! My parents and I visited her the other day, and she just kept giggling at me. My mom says she's a little lucky charm, always smiling at everyone!"
"Ugh, seeing how cute she is almost makes me want to have a baby too!"
