After speaking, Julian looked coldly at Sylvia. His eyes held no warmth, only disgust.
"Sylvia, what goes around comes around. You're on your own."
Struggling, Sylvia glared at Julian, her eyes surging with hatred.
"Julian, I thought you were so noble, but it turns out you just love being Scarlett's lapdog. Wherever she goes, you follow."
Julian didn't get angry. Instead, a contemptuous smirk appeared on his lips.
"You can't describe the ocean to a frog in a well. Scarlett, let's go. We've said enough."
Sylvia was stung so deeply by Julian's merciless words that her eyes turned bloodshot, looking as though she might cough up blood.
"Julian! The three of you trespassed on private property and kidnapped me! The security cameras caught it all!"
"I'm calling the cops right now! I'll have you all locked up!"
"Locked up?" Scarlett let out a sharp laugh, her gaze as piercing as a blade. "Go ahead, Sylvia! Call the cops! We can hash it all out at the station!"
Her tone was ice-cold and resolute.
"Don't forget, those cameras didn't just record us coming in. They also recorded your involvement in a transnational human trafficking scheme, plotting to sell an innocent woman overseas. Plus, there is hard evidence of you assaulting Julian with a deadly weapon!"
"Make the call. I don't mind spending some time behind bars if you're coming with me! Are you sure you want to go back to a place like that, Sylvia?"
Sylvia froze completely. She trembled all over, her lips quivering for a long time, but she couldn't force a single word out.
Everything Scarlett said was true.
Once the police were involved, Sylvia wouldn't be able to stay out of it. She would inevitably end up behind bars too.
The thought of being locked in that dark cage again made her shiver, her toxic resentment slowly giving way to terror and despair.
Scarlett stared coldly into her eyes.
"I'm not letting this go, Sylvia."
"Just wait. Your karma has only just begun. You dared to touch my friend, and I'll make you pay it back a thousand times over."
