It was Yardley.
From the moment his call with Sylvia abruptly disconnected, Yardley had been continuously trying to reach Kane.
After multiple attempts, he finally got through.
However, the second he introduced himself as Yardley Flynn, Kane just cursed him out and ruthlessly hung up.
Yardley had no choice but to communicate through a mutual acquaintance. Eventually, he learned that Talia had been rescued by a mercenary squad over there and was safely out of Kane's clutches.
Upon hearing the news, Yardley wanted to inform Scarlett immediately. But after calling her several times with no answer, and finding Sylvia's phone similarly unreachable, he knew what was happening.
Knowing Scarlett's personality, he figured she must have been frantic enough to take matters into her own hands with Sylvia.
He drove to Sylvia's house at top speed.
As soon as he stepped out of his car, he saw Julian carrying Scarlett. Julian's hand, wrapped around her waist, was visibly stained with blood.
Yardley mistakenly assumed Scarlett had been stabbed, his pupils shrinking in panic.
"Scarlett!"
He rushed forward, grabbing Julian's wrist, instinctively trying to pull Scarlett into his own arms.
"Let her go! What did you do to her?! Why is she bleeding?!"
Julian was bumped back half a step by Yardley's sudden outburst. Frowning, he tightened his grip on Scarlett and shot Yardley a cold glare.
"What is wrong with you, Yardley?"
"What do you mean, what's wrong with me?!"
Yardley stared fixedly at the glaring bloodstains on Julian's arm, shoving him hard.
