He Lost Me to His Best Friend novel Chapter 721

Scarlett saw right through her malicious intent and immediately shot Stellan a look.

Just as Veronica was about to drop to her knees, Stellan lunged forward. He grabbed her by the arm and hauled her up, tossing her onto a nearby chair.

Caught off guard, Veronica nearly slid off the seat. Her elbow slammed hard into the armrest, and she let out a sharp cry of pain.

She glared at Scarlett in disbelief. "What the hell does your bodyguard think he's doing?"

Scarlett looked down at her coldly. "First of all, he's my friend. Not just a bodyguard."

By publicly giving him that level of respect, Scarlett caused a subtle shift in Stellan's usually stoic expression. Though they didn't speak much, she could tell from his demeanor that he was far more than a hired guard. He was protecting her under her brother's orders, but he seemed to be on some other covert mission in this country. There was always an aura of mystery around him.

"Secondly," Scarlett continued smoothly, "I demanded an apology because you three crossed the line first. It's a perfectly reasonable request, not some impossible ultimatum."

She reached into her pocket and pulled out a digital voice recorder. "Before the ceremony even started, you cornered me at the entrance and told me to get lost. It's all recorded right here. You, Corinne, and Sylvia—every single one of you needs to apologize."

"I want a genuine apology. Not some pathetic, dramatic show of begging on your knees!"

"Don't think I don't know exactly what you're playing at, Veronica. If I had let you humiliate yourself like that, tomorrow's headlines would be dragging my name through the mud, wouldn't they?"

Scarlett cast a mocking glance at the swarm of reporters who had their cameras poised and ready.

There was no hesitation in his tone.

For a moment, Corinne, Sylvia, and Veronica froze, exchanging horrified looks. But with Scarlett holding the recording and Yardley putting his foot down, they had no way out. Reluctantly swallowing their pride, each of them mumbled an apology to Scarlett.

Scarlett stood perfectly still, her expression icy. "From now on, we are strategic partners, Yardley. I suggest you keep your family in line. Teach them what to say and what to keep to themselves, unless you want their lack of boundaries to ruin the partnership between AM Capital and Flynn Group."

With that, she spun on her heel and walked away, Stellan closely following her.

The entire Flynn family looked absolutely livid—except for Franklin. The older man watched Scarlett's retreating figure with deep interest, a sly, fox-like smirk creeping onto his face as his mind began to calculate his next move.
