Scarlett and Julian instinctively exchanged a glance, both sharing the exact same look of sheer bewilderment.
Her brother had already promised her over the phone that he would personally arrange all her accommodations and scheduling for this trip to Country A.
There was absolutely no need for Yardley to intervene.
Yet, for whatever bizarre reason, Yardley had actually approached her brother's company offering to foot the bill.
Her brother definitely wasn't short on cash, but if some fool was volunteering to cover the expenses, who was he to say no?
Staring at Yardley, Scarlett was at a complete loss for words, her mouth twitching slightly.
Yardley, however, misinterpreted her awkward silence as being deeply moved. His lips curled into a pleased smile.
He knew it. This unexpected grand gesture completely outclassed Julian and highlighted his own massive generosity.
No matter how cruelly his ex-wife treated him, he still treated her like his first love.
Just then, the PA system announced that boarding had commenced.
Yardley instinctively reached out to wrap his arm around Scarlett's waist. "Let's go, Scarlett. We shouldn't waste time."
"I was actually getting annoyed that all the tickets were sold out. But since you're offering with such overwhelming hospitality, I suppose I'll reluctantly hitch a ride."
Julian's clear, resonant voice sounded right by his ear.
Before Yardley could even react, Julian had already grabbed Scarlett's arm and pulled her forward, leaving no room for argument.
Yardley's jaw dropped, and a deep scowl immediately formed on his face. "The Croft family hasn't gone bankrupt, has it? Are you seriously throwing away your basic dignity for a plane ticket?"
With that, Stellan pushed past Yardley, striding confidently ahead to catch up with Julian and Scarlett, claiming his spot in the first-class cabin.
Stellan was tall and solidly built with muscle. Compared to him, Yardley's physique was slightly leaner. Caught off guard by Stellan's shove, Yardley nearly stumbled.
He quickly regained his balance and hurried after them.
But when he stepped into the first-class cabin, Yardley almost coughed up blood.
To Scarlett's left, Julian was already comfortably seated, leaning over to adjust her backrest. Across the aisle to her right, Stellan was sprawled out, flashing a wide, triumphant grin at him.
The only empty seats left were either directly in front of her or behind her.
Yardley had spent a fortune booking the flight, hoping to use this trip as a chance to sit beside Scarlett, talk things out, and clear up their misunderstandings.
