He Lost Me to His Best Friend novel Chapter 751

Julian looked back at Scarlett, startled, about to speak. But her eyes told him everything. He smiled slightly and swallowed his words.

Scarlett stepped up beside him, giving Yardley and Sylvia an icy glare. Seeing their matching formal wear, she couldn't help but let out a mocking smirk. Yardley constantly denied anything was going on between him and Sylvia, yet they were always joined at the hip. If there was nothing between them, she was the Queen of England.

Sylvia scowled at the sight of Scarlett and Julian standing together like a picture-perfect couple. Remembering Julian's coldness toward her, she sneered. "Double the price? Fine. Yardley can easily afford it."

"As long as Julian doesn't mind the humiliation of getting kicked out halfway through his meal, we're game."

Sylvia turned to Yardley and tugged at his sleeve, feigning nervousness. "Right, Yardley?"

She wasn't entirely sure he'd go along with it. Since arriving in Country A, she'd noticed a subtle shift in his attitude toward Scarlett. She didn't know if he'd really let his ex-wife lose face like this—getting booted from an exclusive revolving restaurant would definitely make the rounds in their social circles back home.

Yardley met Sylvia's gaze with surprising gentleness. His lips parted slightly. "Whatever you want. As long as you're happy."

Sylvia's heart fluttered. He was actually indulging her in front of Scarlett! It was the first time in ages he'd been so attentive. Thrilled, she added, "I really do want to try the food here. I've been trying to get a reservation for ages."

Yardley looked at Julian and agreed without hesitation. "Deal."

Watching her walk away without a shred of hesitation felt like a punch to the gut. Her first reaction to getting the money was to flee, treating him like a walking plague.

Meanwhile, Scarlett stared at the seven-figure sum in her account and actually laughed out loud.

Perhaps she was a little too caught up in her victory, because the moment she stepped into the elevator, her stiletto heel slipped into the gap of the floor tracks.

Her body pitched forward.
