At first, Scarlett was genuinely flustered.
But then, clarity hit her like a bucket of cold water, and she suddenly felt perfectly calm. Julian was doing this on purpose.
Showing up right out of the shower in a silk robe? A belt that just conveniently fell open?
He was trying to seduce her.
The second she figured it out, her eyes lingered on the spectacular view for exactly a fraction of a second before snapping directly to his face.
She crossed her arms, raising an eyebrow with a wicked smirk.
"Julian, the quality of that robe is terrible. Look at how easily it falls apart."
"But hey, I'm not complaining. The view is certainly appetizing."
With that, she took a bold step forward and reached her hand out.
Julian, who had been waiting for her to get flustered, suddenly found himself thrown off balance. He instinctively took a half-step back.
His Adam's apple bobbed slightly, his calculated cool showing a tiny crack.
Seeing him genuinely panicked only deepened her amusement. Flipping the script, she took another aggressive step toward him, her fingers reaching straight for the open lapels of his robe.
Julian stopped breathing altogether, his voice turning raspy. "Scarlett, you..."
Now he was the one looking utterly flustered, his hands instinctively twitching as if to cover himself up. He hadn't expected her to be this bold, and the tips of his ears immediately flushed a bright red.
"Hold still. Let me," she ordered smoothly. She brushed his hands away and expertly grabbed both ends of the belt, pulling it tight and tying it into a neat, perfect bow.
"Julian, your seduction skills need some serious work."
The air in the room instantly crystallized.
Julian had absolutely no idea that Zachary was quietly sitting in Scarlett's suite. Realizing that his entire, slightly failed seduction routine had an audience, he became entirely paralyzed with mortification.
It was the ultimate social nightmare.
It took him several agonizing seconds to reboot his brain. He swayed slightly on his feet. "Wait, Zachary, why didn't you tell me you were coming to see her?"
Zachary smirked, his pale face looking thoroughly entertained. "Why would I need to tell you I'm visiting my own sister? You're not her husband yet."
The jab made Julian want the floor to swallow him whole.
Scarlett couldn't hold back a laugh and mercifully stepped in to save Julian. "Don't be mean. Julian is my best business partner. He's helped me a lot lately."
She walked over, picked up a cherry from the plate, and casually handed it to her brother.
