The formidable group surged into the venue, their sheer presence instantly shattering the heavy, somber atmosphere.
Dominic Croft led the way, his posture rigid and his face like thunder. His eagle-like gaze locked onto Corinne, looking as though he was ready to tear her apart.
Elara, her eyes red with fury, dropped her husband's arm and marched straight up to Corinne, her heels clicking aggressively against the marble floor.
"Corinne, do you have zero shame?!"
Elara pointed a shaking finger right in Corinne's face, her voice echoing through the room.
"Scarlett's body isn't even cold, and you show up here in a green dress just to spite her memory? And now you have the audacity to bully her grieving mother?"
"What, are you planning to rob a corpse at her own memorial?"
Startled by the sudden ambush, Corinne shrank back for a fleeting second. But then she remembered this was her son's event, and her spine stiffened with misplaced arrogance.
She let out a cold scoff, crossing her arms. "Who the hell do you think you are, Elara? This is Flynn family business. It has absolutely nothing to do with outsiders like you!"
Seeing that they had the numbers, Corinne belligerently dragged a chair to the center of the hall and sat down with a defiant sneer.
"Since the Flynns are paying for this little gathering, we'll do things the Flynn way!"
Elara arched an eyebrow in sheer disbelief. "And what exactly is 'the Flynn way'? Enlighten us."
