He Lost Me to His Best Friend novel Chapter 879

Heath was currently racing against the clock to relocate his operation; he had absolutely zero patience to deal with Scarlett's baiting.

Dropping his usual flirty act, his voice went ice-cold. "Scarlett, I have no idea what nonsense you're spouting, and I am incredibly busy right now. Goodbye."

He hung up immediately.

However, during the brief window she had kept him on the phone, Gordon had already sped the car right up to the front entrance of Heath's company.

Knowing they needed to buy as much time as possible, Scarlett and Julian threw the car doors open the second they parked and sprinted toward the building.

Talia was already waiting by the side entrance. Seeing them arrive, she quickly punched the code into the keypad to let them in.

She kept her voice to an urgent whisper. "You guys have perfect timing. He's got everything boxed up and is leaving right now. The car is parked out back by the loading dock. Follow me!"

Scarlett grabbed Talia's hand, and without wasting a single word, the two women sprinted toward the rear warehouse.

Julian and Gordon, with their longer strides, reached the warehouse doors just seconds ahead of them.

Sure enough, in front of the massive fabric loading bay sat a box truck and a sleek Maybach.

Just as Julian and Gordon skidded to a halt, Heath emerged from the back door, clutching a thick black ledger bag tight to his chest, making a beeline for the Maybach.

Without a second's hesitation, Julian and Gordon rushed him.

Julian grabbed Heath roughly by the arm. "Where do you think you're going, Heath?"

Heath gasped, his face draining of color. "How... how the hell did you get in here?"

Scarlett and Talia arrived just in time to hear him.

Seeing Scarlett holding his cousin's hand, Heath instantly connected the dots.

He pointed a trembling finger at Talia, utterly enraged. "Talia! Did you let them in here?!"

Julian's grip on Heath's arm was like a vice, his voice dangerously calm. "That's not the issue here, Heath. The issue is that Scarlett and I are still breathing."
