He Lost Me to His Best Friend novel Chapter 881

Scarlett, Talia, and Gordon watched the terrifying scene unfold between Julian and Heath, their hearts hammering against their ribs.

Scarlett sprinted desperately after the moving vehicle, relief washing over her only when Julian finally managed to hurl himself inside and slam the door shut.

But her relief was short-lived. A split second later, Julian roared her name.

When she saw him shove the black ledger bag out the window, Scarlett reacted on pure instinct. She lunged forward, leaping into the air to catch the heavy bag, clutching it tightly to her chest.

Heath, fully focused on making his getaway, hadn't anticipated Julian's move. Seeing the crucial evidence tossed out the window so effortlessly made his face contort with fury.

He slammed on the brakes, twisting around to throw a vicious punch at Julian's face.

Julian dodged it with ease, seizing Heath's wrist and twisting it sharply before slamming his head against the windowpane.

By then, Scarlett and Talia had reached the car, frantically pulling at the door on Julian’s side.

Pinning Heath down, Julian snapped his head toward Scarlett. "Don't worry about me! Run! Take the bag and get it to the police!"

Scarlett didn't hesitate. Gripping the black ledger bag like a lifeline, she bolted toward the gates.

Seeing her run off with his only leverage, Heath’s face went pale. "Stop! Get back here!"

"Damn it! Julian, you bastard! You—"

Julian cut him off with a brutal punch to the jaw. "You're the bastard here! You deserve to rot in hell!"

"Scarlett never did a damn thing to you, but you nearly got her killed in Country A! If I let you walk away today, I don't deserve my name!"

His eyes blazing with a protective fury, Julian rained blows on Heath. Every time he pictured Scarlett in danger overseas, the rage burning in his chest flared higher.

Heath, scrawny and out of shape, was no match for a man who spent hours at the gym. In seconds, Heath’s face was bruised and bleeding.
