He Lost Me to His Best Friend novel Chapter 882

"You cut off my cash flow, dug into my past, and tried to ruin my life, and you have the nerve to ask what the meaning of this is?"

He lunged forward, grabbing a fistful of Scarlett’s hair with ruthless force. "Did you tip off the cops, you bitch?" Kane growled, his nostrils flaring with unhinged rage. "I seriously underestimated you!"

Pain flared across Scarlett’s scalp, and she opened her mouth to shoot back a retort.

But before she could speak, a long, powerful leg swung out of nowhere, planting a brutal kick squarely into Kane's ribs. Kane cursed, stumbling backward and releasing his grip.

Instantly, Scarlett was pulled into a strong, familiar embrace. Julian's icy voice echoed through the space.

"Instead of putting up a pointless fight, Kane, you'd be better off pleading guilty right now."

"If you know someone’s been investigating you, then you know it's already over. There's no way out."

Kane narrowed his eyes at Julian, a vile, mocking smirk creeping onto his lips.

"Well, well. Look who it is. If it isn't the patron saint of cuckolds."

"Tell me, how does it feel knowing another man was sleeping with your wife and making you raise his bastard?"

"Tsk, tsk. If I had to live with that kind of humiliation, I would’ve put a bullet in my own brain by now. Pathetic."

The temperature in the room seemed to drop below freezing.

Those toxic, humiliating words dug straight into Julian’s deepest scars. Scarlett gasped, instinctively turning to look at Julian, bracing herself for his reaction. But Julian was eerily calm.

"Are you done?" he asked quietly.

Kane let out a dark laugh, opening his mouth to spew more venom.

In a flash, Julian’s hand shot out, his fingers clamping down on Kane's throat like a vice.

A choked gasp tore from Kane’s lips. His eyes bulged in shock as he frantically clawed at Julian’s arm, trying to break the hold.
