Sean's eyes lit up at the sight of the cocktail. He reached out, ready to take the glass.
But before his fingers could even brush it, Scarlett materialized in front of him. Her face was a mask of pure ice. She snatched the glass from the tray and violently hurled the drink straight into his face!
The icy liquid and crushed ice splattered all over him.
His last memory of Scarlett was of a little girl, so it didn't even register that this was his own daughter. He jumped up, absolutely enraged, pointing a trembling finger in her face as he roared, "Who the hell do you think you are?! Do you have a death wish, throwing a drink at me?"
"Do you even know who I am? I'm Jacqueline Langley's husband! That makes me the owner of this entire establishment! You're going to apologize to me right now, or else—"
Hearing those words, Scarlett's temples throbbed with unadulterated fury.
"Or else what, you pathetic excuse for a man?" she cut in, her voice slicing through the air like a blade. "How dare you call yourself her husband! You abandon your wife and daughter for years, sell off your only son, and you don't feel a single ounce of shame? How does a parasite like you even find the nerve to keep breathing? If I were you, I would have thrown myself into the ocean a long time ago!"
Her chest tightened painfully, a sharp ache radiating from her heart as she instinctively pressed a hand against it.
Sean had walked into the lavish club fully expecting to throw his weight around and exploit the connection. Instead, he had just been verbally decimated by this stunning, fiercely commanding woman.
He had only one goal: find Scarlett and force her to fund his retirement.
Realizing that the woman standing before him was his golden ticket, his eyes lit up with feverish excitement. He rushed forward, his voice trembling with manufactured emotion. "You... you're Scarlett, aren't you? Do you know who I am? I'm your father! Did you miss me all these years? You..."
He reached out to grab her hand, but before he could even graze her skin, a tall figure stepped smoothly in front of her. Before Sean could react, a strong hand gripped his wrist and shoved him backward with brutal force!
Sean stumbled wildly, nearly tumbling over before he finally managed to catch his balance. He snapped his head up to see who had pushed him.
